1972-07-03 103 CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL 6 July 3, 1972, The City Council of the City of Southlake met in special session in the Council Chamber of City Hall in Southlake, Texas, on Monday, July 3, 1972. This meeting was in lieu of the regular meeting to be held July 4 but cancelled because of the national holiday. The following members were present: Wade Booker, Mayor Ralph Polson, Mayor Pro Tem W. O. Nunn, Councilman Billy Joe Knox, Councilman Frank Tetrault, Councilman. Absent: R. D. Drummond, Councilman William D. Campbell, City Attorney. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Booker at 7:30 P.M. The Council was in unanimous agreement to hire Don Armstrong under the E.E.A. Program and pay approximately $70 monthly to Tarrant County for his #ringe benefits. The Council also agreed that he would be included in the 1973 Budget as a patrolman in the Police Department at a minimum salary of $513 monthly which he is now being paid. The Council unanimously agreed to grant the following raises ■ effective July 1, 1972: Chief D. R. Hughes, $25 monthly; Sgt. D. L. Gaddy, $25 monthly; Jean Harwell, $29 monthly. No other raises were granted at this time. At this time, the Mayor proposed that all City banking and all municipal funds be deposited with the First State Bank of Bedford. Discussion followed. Councilman Nunn moved that the Mayor and City Secretary be authorized to negotiate to- ward closing our account with Exchange Bank & Trust in Dallas and placing such funds with First State and the liquid assets at First National Bank in Grapevine provided such acts can be ' done without incurring any penalty or loss of interest by the City of Southlake and any further negotiations are to be approved by the Council first; seconded by Councilman Tetrault.
