The Advisory Commission on Persons with Disabilities will hold its next meeting on
Monday, October 27, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in the Legends Hall Board Room at The Marq
Southlake (285 Shady Oaks Drive). A light dinner will be available beginning at 6:00 p.m.
If you are unable to attend, please notify staff in advance by contacting David Miller at

agenda items. During the Public Forum, Commission members will not discuss,

A. Executive Session: Pursuant to the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551,
Texas Government Code, Sections 551.071, 551.072, 551.073, 551.074,
551.076, 551.087, 418.183(f), and 418.106(d) & (e). Refer to posted list
attached hereto and incorporated herein. Executive Session may be held,
under these exceptions, at the end of the Regular Session or at any
time during the meeting that a need arises for the Advisory
Commission on Persons with Disabilities to seek advice from the city
attorney as to the posted subject matter of this Advisory Commission
on Persons with Disabilities meeting.
1. Section 551.071: Consultation with city attorney.
a. Seek advice of the city attorney regarding the Open Meetings Act and
Ordinance No. 635-D.
5. Agenda Item No. 5: Discussion
A. Review of Current Programs and Funding Follow-up
The purpose of this item is to provide ACPD members with follow-up
information related to the Programs and Funding presentation shared at the
September 29, 2025, meeting.

B. Discuss Fiscal Year 2026 Draft Strategic Priorities Survey Results
The purpose of this item is to review and discuss the results of the FY 2026
Strategic Priorities Survey. Feedback from this discussion will be used to
finalize the Commission's Strategic Priorities and meeting plan for FY 2026.

C. Review Draft Logo Concepts Updates
The purpose of this item is for ACPD members to review the updated draft
logo concepts and brand standards developed for the Commission.
Members will be asked to provide feedback and direction to staff to help
finalize a logo that will serve as the official visual identity of the ACPD.

D. Discuss Future Meeting Logistics and November Meeting Date
The purpose of this item is for the ACPD to review meeting logistics as a
follow-up to the discussion at the September 29, 2025, meeting regarding
meeting frequency. The Commission will also consider options for

1. CALL TO ORDER
Advisory Commission on Persons with Disabilities Chair Laura McCaskill called
the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.
2. PUBLIC FORUM
Chair McCaskill opened the Public Forum at 6:31 P.M.
Marissa Mehan, 2949 River Crest Street, Grapevine, TX 76051, mentioned that
Grapevine will open a new facility, Gigi's Playhouse, for adults and kids with
Down syndrome in late Spring.
Chair McCaskill closed the Public Forum at 6:35 P.M.

the August 25, 2025, Advisory Commission on Persons with Disabilities.

Advisory Commission on Persons with Disabilities meeting as presented.

4. DISCUSSION
4A. REVIEW OF CURRENT PROGRAMS AND FUNDING
Director Miller presented item 3A and gave an overview of the current Adaptive
Recreation programs and their funding within Community Services. Director
Miller was available to answer questions.
Direction to Staff: Research organizations and possible partnerships that
accommodate wheelchairs.
4113. DISCUSS FISCAL YEAR 2026 DRAFT STRATEGIC PRIORITIES
Assistant City Manager, Stacey Black, presented Item 4B to the Commission,
discussed the draft of the Fiscal Year 2026 Strategic Priorities, and was available
to answer questions.
Direction to Staff: N/A
4C. REVIEW DRAFT LOGO CONCEPTS
Assistant City Manager Stacey Black presented Item 4C and discussed possible
logos.
Direction to Staff: Revise Concept 1 and Alternative 1 to include the Southlake "S."
