Item 6 - Staff ReportCase No. SV25-0011 S T A F F R E P O R T October 03, 2025 CASE NO: SV25-0011 PROJECT: Sign Variance for Lambert Home Headquarters EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Architecture Underground Inc, on behalf of Lambert Home Headquarters, is requesting approval of sign variances to Sign Ordinance No. 704-J, as amended, for two attached signs located at 1710 North White Chapel Blvd. DETAILS: Architecture Underground Inc. is requesting sign variances to install two externally lit, dimensional letter signs. One sign is proposed for the north elevation, with free- standing aluminum letters attached at the base of the sign to the canopy (not affixed to the wall). The second sign is an upper-story wall sign on the south elevation. Variances are needed because these sign types are not permitted under current regulations, and the width of each sign exceeds 75% of the allowable signable façade. Sign Board consideration of this item is scheduled to be held on October 09, 2025. CITY COUNCIL: The City Council meeting is tentatively scheduled to be held on October 21, 2025. STAFF COMMENTS: City Council approval of this request does not waive the requirement to obtain a sign permit prior to installation. All signage must be reviewed and approved through the City’s permitting process before any installation takes place.
