Action
Requested: Approve an Encroachment and Joint Use Agreement for the
placement of a vehicular and pedestrian bridge within a variable
width drainage easement located at 519 N. Kimball Avenue.
Background
Information: The purpose of this item is to seek City Council approval of an
Encroachment and Joint Use Agreement for the placement of a
vehicular and pedestrian bridge within a variable width drainage
easement located at 519 N. Kimball Avenue. This agreement will
allow the developer to place a 29-foot wide vehicular bridge and an
8-foot wide pedestrian bridge across the existing creek along the
east side of the property.
The drainage easement was dedicated for the existing creek that
routes drainage to the north into Lake Grapevine. Based on the
drainage memo and engineering plans from Kirkman Engineering,
the proposed bridges have been designed to not impede drainage
flow, will not cause adverse impacts to neighboring properties, and
will be placed above the 100-year water surface elevation. This
property is not located within a FEMA floodplain. The proposed
improvements are private improvements and will be owned and
maintained by the property owner.
