Whereas:SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS
WHEREAS, our state's future lies in the strength of our families and
the neglect of our children undermines the hope of that future; and,
WHEREAS, the failure of parents to take financial responsibility for
their children in this state is recognized as another form of child
1 abuse; and,
WHEREAS, in order to ensure our children the needed financial support
0 from their parents, the 68th Texas Legislature passed resolution declair-
ing the month of August Child Support Month" in Texas, and,
WHEREAS, all citizens of the City of Southlake are urged to join in
acknowledging the significance of "Child Support Month" to emphasize
the financial aspects of parental responsibility;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, LLOYD 0. LATTA JR., MAYOR of the City of Southlake,
do hereby proclaim the month of August, 1.984, as CHILD SUPPORT MONTH.
