1984-02-21 CC Packetr City of F Southlake--n~~~ Whereas:SOUTNLAKE, TEXAS WHEREAS, Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. observes the 72nd anniversary of its founding on March 12,1984; and, WHEREAS, since 1912 Girl Scouting has helped more than 46 million members discover new worlds; and, WHEREAS, the movement reaffirms its commitment to work for global understanding and world friendship amoung all peoples; and, WHEREAS, Girl Scouting helps girls enter new worlds and experiment with and explore a variety of different roles; and, WHEREAS, Girl Scouting today helps girls prepare for the world of tomorrow; and, WHEREAS, Girl Scouting Week will be celebrated by the Girl Scouts of our community from March 11 to 17; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Sam Sparger, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of Southlake, hereby proclaim March 11 through 17, 1984, as Girl Scout Week in Southlake. I do further call upon all citizens of Southlake to give their continued interest, cooperation and support to the Girl Scouts through 1984.
