These projects will utilize general funds budgeted for sidewalk construction. This year, staff recommended eight possible locations for sidewalk construction with an approved budget of $400,000: Est. There are several noted considerations such as right of way acquisitions, which are an unknown cost variable. Sidewalk construction projects can also result in lower than estimated costs which can lend flexibility. The recommendations you see listed in the table above will continue to be reviewed by city staff and a final list will be presented to City Council at their December 4, 2012 work session. QUESTIONS / COMMENTS (Sidewalks) There is a gap along Carroll, north of Estes Park. Have you talked to them about putting sidewalk there? Yes, it has been discussed. The city is working on options in that location. Î Johnson Elementary has no sidewalk except where the doors open up. It can be a safety issue to someone passing by jogging or biking. Would the city consider putting in a temporary walkway along the undeveloped property at the southeast corner of Carroll and SH 114? Permanent sidewalk is required with development of that property. IamÎ unsure if the city has ever considered temporary walkways on private property. We are in favor of a sidewalk along Ridgecrest. It is heavily used; it would be good for North Park; it should extend all the way to Dove; and, double check your After double checking the distance, the 2,527 is the measurement from Dove. Î The measurement from the park is a little over 1,400 linear feet. Iam in favor of a sidewalk along Ridgecrest. Would like to see it go all the way to Dove or allow access through the park. We are concerned about accidents along Ridgecrest. We are in favor of sidewalk along North Carroll. Someone fenced their property all the way to the street so you have to walk in the street to get around it. I am on the Parks Board and a working on the 2030 Mobility Plan.. the neighbors fought to keep the gate locked at the park because they were concerned too many parents would use it as a drop off point for their kids playing lacrosse. Iam glad to see the priorities that get kids to schools. I am delighted to see the piece on Carroll connecting to DPS. You said that 1709 will be completed from one end to the other. There is a gap remaining at Foxborough after the decel lane was done. Will that be completed? looked at this year? Yes. They currently in design and pending construction. We are looking atÎ new segments for the next fiscal year budget. We live in Loch Meadow Estates. The Ridgecrest sidewalk would be great and beneficial. Im happy to see Carroll on the priority list. Connecting to Town Square makes sense. Details ofWayfinding Signage Presentation: Staff presented some background regarding the Wayfinding Signage Installation Program which was adopted by City Council April 2011. The plan provides for locations and messages for 60-plus signs throughout the city as well as a priority list for sign funding and installation. A list of 15 signs/locations was presented: Location Description Eastbound FM1709 at N. Peytonville Ave intersection; NEC Eastbound frontage road SH 114 at N. Carroll Ave; SWC Eastbound frontage road SH 114 between N. Carroll Ave & Reserve St. Eastbound frontage road SH 114 at N. Kimball Ave; SWC Southbound N. Kimball Ave at FM1709 intersection; NWC Northbound Brumlow Ave at E. Continental Blvd; SEC Northbound N. Carroll Ave at FM1709 intersection; SEC Westbound E. Dove Rd at N. Carroll Ave, NEC Eastbound E. Continental Blvd at Carroll/Brumlow; SWC QUESTIONS / COMMENTS (Wayfinding) We would like to see mile marker signs for runners like they have in Keller. Mile markers are a part of the Southlake 2030 plan. Î Ilike the wayfinding signs but why are they all city- we want to use these for private entities? The hotel signs not only serve our residents but also serve visitors. The hotelÎ occupancy tax helps fund the wayfinding signs which in turn enhance tourism for the city.
