EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Property Situation
The property is located at 2417 West Southlake Boulevard.
Development Details
The applicant is proposing to add a driveway from the east boundary of the church
property to Brock Drive in order to allow a secondary access point to the property.
Here is the plan proposed at SPIN:
The applicant stated the proposed driveway was to address a safety issue due to the
recently constructed medians along Southlake Boulevard. The church members are
forced to make u-turns since there is no break in front of the property. The large number
of cars making u-turns during Sunday service is a cause for concern. The church isin
the process of completing a traffic study. They have also lined up police assistance for
church service traffic as to not disrupt Brock Drive if this access is approved.
QUESTIONS / CONCERNS
Neighbors along Brock Drive made the following comments:
There are activities and the tennis court all of the timeÎ
The on-site security is never seenÎ
We are worried about the water; the drainage ditches are very smallÎ
Brock is not an improved drive, if the driveway is added, will the church improve Brock
Drive?
We could certainly look into improving a portion of it.. our drive would beÎ
constructed to meet city standards.
Will you provide an exhibit showing present traffic flow at the meeting?
Yes, we can provide that once our study is doneÎ
Is the proposed driveway going to be open all of the time or limited to church services?
It would be a secondary access; it would not be gated or closed off. Î
We are not sure why you need this. Everyone in town is forced to make u-turns.
