Southlake Texas
c
I shall attempt to answer your letter paragraph by paragraph,
Para Z
It is regretsble that you had 39 complaints about the
garbage service in Southlake. however I doubt very ssrio#slythattheyarealljustified. Furthur more I can not call you
every minute of the day or night as I probably Off' doing Aby
very best to service the garbage customers, I do not intend to
or did I ever intend to stop service to anyone if they have
not recieved what they paid for. However your threats will not
keep ins from stepping service in the future to anyone that
is not meeting their obligation aloe.
Para 2
It is of upmost importance to tae that everyone in
Southlake reeieve the very best service and a little more
if I can possible do se, I six delighted Mrs, Bartlett has
signed up, however you did not may that eke has made the
back payment for the past 15 months that she has recieved
service, neither did you instruct as, to discontinue service
to the others tkat hays, not sighed up, however I intend to
discontinue service to tiiem as of this date.
Para 3
I certainly do owe an apol&gy for not making my remittances
on schedule, however 1 felt it more important to give service
to hump the people of Southlake first, then make the small payantsofapprox $90, as the city has allowed near $1500 benot paidtoas, for service in the past 15 mantras. I have always owned
the Southlake contract and kave always serviced it* and I
will continue servicing the same until the Council deems it
necessary to cancer rn1 contract.
Para 4
I have never in my life used foul laumgage to anyone I#eroeverIwillneverusesuchlaungagotoanyonewithwheni
do business with, nor can my people do se, as they can not
speak english. This didhappen back the firwt 5 months of myseatmaetbyoneemployeewhowasterminated
s
I think your letter was very poorly written, as I am
probably older than you and have de&t with the public
through out tho southwest for ever 30 Tears, therefore I know
how IN conduct myself and this statement or lecture of yours
has nothing to do with a garbage eontraeto In the future I will
diroet my questions to the City Water department or the City
Counoil if they desire but I have no furthur nontacts to wake
with you. The majority of those problems eohld have boon
solved or never started if you had not tried to run a garabgs
business and a City at the same time. I have talked to several
complaining people who told we no problam would have existed
iu3 they alled m•3 direct n the first,I am to late

Dear Mayor Hawk:
My responsibilities associated with my employer, Rockwell International,
will require me to make a business trip departing on or about 14 May 1980.
The trip is expected to last approximately two weeks and will require me
to be absent from the 20 May 1980 City Council meeting.
Since the schedule for the forthcoming trip is beyond my control, it is
respectfully requested that the City Council approve an excused absence
for the meeting. In event there is any change in my expected return on
or about 30 May 1980, my office will advise the City Secretary Mrs. LeGrand.
Favorable consideration of this request would be appreciated.
