Aliceanne Wallace, City Secretary 154 1977 BOARD OF EQUALIZATION OATH OF OFFICE We, the undersigned, members of the Board of Equalization of the City of Southlake, Tarrant County, Texas, for the year A. D. 1977, do solemnly swear that in the performance of our duties as members of such Board for said year, we will not vote to allow any taxable property to stand assessed on the Tax Roll of said City for said year for any sum which we believe to be less than its true market value, or if it has no market value, then its real value; that we will faithfully endeavor, as members of said Board, to have each'item of taxable property which we believe to be assessed for said year at less than its true market value or real value, raised on the Tax Roll to which we believe is its true cash market value, if it has a market value, if not, then its real value; and that we will faithfully endeavor to have the assessed valuation of all pro- perty subject to tax..within said City stand upon the Tax Roll of said City for said year at its true cash market value, or if it has no market value, then its real value. Aliceanne Wallace, City Secretary Charles Young 151 CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS TAX EQUALIZATION BOARD MEETING June 25, 1977 The annual meeting of the city of Southlake Tax Equalization Board convened at 9 o'clock A. M. in the City Hall of Southlake, Texas, 667 North Carroll Avenue, with the following members present: Roger Baird L. A. Casey Charles Young. Will Zschiesche, Tax Assessor, was also present as was the City Secretary. The members were sworn in by the City Secretary in accordance with Article 7215 of Vernon's Civil Statutes. The following citizens appeared before the Board: The children of Mrs. Rosa Creel appeared before the Board asking that their assessed value of land be reduced because drainage areas lessen its value. After giving consideration to adjacent properties, the Board ruled to set the land value at $2,000 an acre as recommended by Mr. Zschiesche on tracts described as being in the 0. W. Knight Survey, A-899, Tracts 2A4, 2A5, 2A6, and 2A7, and that the value of Mrs. Creel's house be reduced to $3,000 but the land to remain at the same value of $3,000 (Tract 2A, same survey). Michael Gregory appeared before the Board concerning his property described as Lot 31,Block 2, Continental Park Estates. After explaining to him how the value was established, he was satisfied. The Board ruled to have the value stand as assessed. Eldon Lietz appeared before the Board concerning his property described as Lot 19 and 20B, Block 2, Continental Park Estates. After explaining to him how the value was established, he was satisfied. The Board ruled to have the value stand as assessed. Gerard English questioned being assessed on "Lot 11B", Block 3, Continental Park Estates, as well as Lot 12. The Board ruled the value set on Lot 12, Block 3, to stand as-assessed, with the small part of Lot 11 included in that value. Mr. and Mrs. Howell (formerly Mrs. A. J. Musick) appeared before the Board to ascertain the value of their property (A-1049, Tract 3A) was not raised. Mrs. Donald Lower appeared before the Board concerning their property des- cribed as Lot 3, Block 5, Southlake Park Addition. The Board ruled that the value stand as assessed. Mrs. Adabel Tavenner appeared before the Board concerning her property 15w Page 2 of 2 Pages Tax Equalization Board Meeting 25 June 1977 located in the R. D. Price Survey, A-1207, Tract lAl. The Board ascertained the property erroneously showed a swimming pool and deleted its value. Follow- ing further discussion, the Board ruled that the total assessed value of the property to be $13,900.
