RESOLUTION NO. 77-
21 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of
Southlake deems it to be to the best interest, health and
wel-fare of its citizens to plan and develop city
parks and park sites;
And,WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of
Southlake desires to coordinate such planning and
developing under a Parks and Recreation Commissioner
and the Facilities Liaison Officer;
And,WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council
of the City of Southlake to have this
Commissioner serve a one (1) year term from June 1st to June
1st of each year;
Now,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTHLAKE,
THAT:1. A Parks and Recreation Commissioner be and is,hereby
created for the purpose of planning and developing parks and park
sites within the City of Southlake for the use and benefit of its
citizens.2. The Parks and Recreation Commissioner shall, under the
direc-tion and approval of the Facilities Liaison Officer, work with
the City Planner as well as the Tarrant County Planning Division
in planning and developing such
parks.3. Mr. Ben Berry is hereby appointed to serve a term of one (
1)year from June 1

receipt of input and advice from its
citizens;

1.A Citizens Advisory Committe be and is hereby recreated
for the purpose, and with the role, indicated in the

22 CITIZENS ADVISORY
COMMITTEE
GENERAL This Committee was initially established by the City of Southlake
on 20 April1976. Due to the useful purpose of the Committee, it is deemed in
the best interest of Southlake to revitalize the Committee and continue its
activities.

The Committee's functions are to work with the members of the Planning
and Zoning Commission and their Liaison Officer to:
a) Review the existing Zoning Ordinance 161 for required
changes and/or deficiencies, or;
b) Evaluate the proposed zoning ordinance.
LIAISON
All direct guidance and support of the Committee will be provided by the
same Council liaison assigned to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
ORGANIZATION
The Committee will consist of twelve men and women appointed by the
Mayor and approved by the Council, one of which will be designated by the
Mayor as Chairperson.
MEETINGS
The Committee will meet in work sessions on the first and third Mondays
of each month.
TERM
The life of this Committee shall be one year unless extended or shortened
by the City Council.
ATTENDANCE
It is expected that each member of the Committee will attempt to attend
every meeting, but it is understood that emergencies will occur. Should a
member of the Committee miss three consecutive meetings, it will be assumed
that the member no longer desires to serve on the Committee and that member
will be removed. Should a member submit a written justification to the
Chairperson prior to the third absence, this will be taken into consideration.

PRODUCT A written report will be prepared documenting the Committees
recom-mendations for the Zoning Ordinance. The report will be specific:son
these
points :a) Modifications to the existing Ordinance 161. This will

map.Incremental reports on specific subjects or aspects of the ordinance
can be requested by either the Council, the Planning and Zoning
Commission,or the Liaison
