1977-05-17 CC Packet117 RESOLUTION NO. 77- 21 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Southlake deems it to be to the best interest, health and wel-fare of its citizens to plan and develop city parks and park sites; And,WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Southlake desires to coordinate such planning and developing under a Parks and Recreation Commissioner and the Facilities Liaison Officer; And,WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of Southlake to have this Commissioner serve a one (1) year term from June 1st to June 1st of each year; Now,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, THAT:1. A Parks and Recreation Commissioner be and is,hereby created for the purpose of planning and developing parks and park sites within the City of Southlake for the use and benefit of its citizens.2. The Parks and Recreation Commissioner shall, under the direc-tion and approval of the Facilities Liaison Officer, work with the City Planner as well as the Tarrant County Planning Division in planning and developing such parks.3. Mr. Ben Berry is hereby appointed to serve a term of one ( 1)year from June 1 st.PASSED AND APPROVED this 17th day of May, 1977. Mayor ATTEST: City Secretary 118 RESOLUTION NO. 77- 22 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Southlake deems it to be in the best in-terest of its citizens to have orderly zoning and developmentconsistent with the desires and the welfare of the majority; And,WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Southlake desires to permit the receipt of input and advice from its citizens; i Now,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE THAT: 1.A Citizens Advisory Committe be and is hereby recreated for the purpose, and with the role, indicated in the attached charter marked "Exhibit A1°. 2.The following citizens are hereby appointed for a term of one (1) year from June 1, 1977:Mary Ann Copp Virginia Clow Louise Burrows Louise Morrison Martin Vale Ralph Polson Jerry Black Weldon Banks Roy Lee, Chairperson Henry Kovarnik Karen Lawrence Bob Montgomery PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 17th day of May, 1977. 7wz Mayor ATTEST: City Secretary EXHIBIT A to RES. 77- 22 CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE GENERAL This Committee was initially established by the City of Southlake on 20 April1976. Due to the useful purpose of the Committee, it is deemed in the best interest of Southlake to revitalize the Committee and continue its activities. TTT NC TT CAN The Committee's functions are to work with the members of the Planning and Zoning Commission and their Liaison Officer to: a) Review the existing Zoning Ordinance 161 for required changes and/or deficiencies, or; b) Evaluate the proposed zoning ordinance. LIAISON All direct guidance and support of the Committee will be provided by the same Council liaison assigned to the Planning and Zoning Commission. ORGANIZATION The Committee will consist of twelve men and women appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Council, one of which will be designated by the Mayor as Chairperson. MEETINGS The Committee will meet in work sessions on the first and third Mondays of each month. TERM The life of this Committee shall be one year unless extended or shortened by the City Council. ATTENDANCE It is expected that each member of the Committee will attempt to attend every meeting, but it is understood that emergencies will occur. Should a member of the Committee miss three consecutive meetings, it will be assumed that the member no longer desires to serve on the Committee and that member will be removed. Should a member submit a written justification to the Chairperson prior to the third absence, this will be taken into consideration.
