AN ORDINANCE ALTERING THE PRI1'A FACI ; S?ZED LIMITS
ESTABLISHED FOR VEHICLES UNDER THE PaGVISIONS OF
SECTION 167 AND 169 OF ARTICLE XIX, R.C.S. 6701d,
UNIFORM ACT REGULATING TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAYS, UPON
THE BASIS OF AN ENGINEERING AND TRAFFIC INVESTIGATION

WIT:IN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SOUTHIA0,
AS SET OUT IN THE ORDINANCE: AND PROVIDING A PENA:TY
OF A FINE NOT TO EXCEED $200.00 FOR VIOLATION OF =S
ORDINANCE.
WHEKAS, Section 167 and 169 of Article XIX, R.C.S. 3701d,
Uniform Act Regulating Traffic on Highways, provides that whenever the
governing body of the City shall determine upon the basis of an
engineering and traffic investigation that any prima facie speed there-
in set forth is greater or less than is reasonable or safe under the
c3nditions found to exist at any intersection or other place or upon
any part of a street or highway, with the City taking into considera-
tion the width and condition of the pavement and other circumstances
on such portion of said street or highway, as well as the usual traffic
thereon, said govern body may determine and declare a reasonable and
safe prima facie speed limit thereat or thereon by the passa3c of an
ordinance, which shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice
thereof are erected at such intersection or other place or part of the
street or highway, now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED-by the City Council of the City of
Southlake Texas:

the following prima facie speed limits hereafter indicated for vehicl.j

traveling u.on the named streets and highways, or parts thereof, described

Tarrant County
I. Northwest Bound Lane-
a) From Station 81+40 (North City Limit of Southlake on SH-114)
southeasterly 4.971 miles to Station 342+94 (Southlake-Grapevine
City Limits on Northwest Bound Lane SH-114) at 55 miles per hour.
II. Southeast Bound Lane-
2) From Station 81+40 (North City Limit of Southlake on SH-114)
southeasterly 4.977 miles to Station 344+23 (Southlake-Grapevine
City Limits on Southeast Bound Lane Sri-114) at 55 miles per hour.
III. School Zone - (Both Lanes)
a) From Station 207+00 (Approx. 975' Northwest of Carroll School Rd.)
southeasterly 0.379 mile to Station 227+00 (Approx. 1025' Southeast
of Carroll School Rd.) at 35 miles per hour when so signed for
school crossing, 55 miles per hour all other times.
Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall
be fined in any sum not more than two hundred ($200) dollars.
