1975-12-02 CC Packet194 RESOLUTION NO. 75-32 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITYOFSOUTHLAKEDESIGNATINGCERTAINCITYOFFI-CIALS AS BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR ACTING FOR ANDONBEHALFOFTHECITYOFSOUTHLAKEINDEALINGWITHTHETEXASPARKSANDWILDLIFEDEPARTMENTFORTHEPURPOSEOFPARTICIPATINGINTHELANDANDWATERCONSERVATIONFUNDACTOF1965; CER-TIFYING THAT THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE IS ELIGIBLETORECEIVEASSISTANCEUNDERSUCHPROGRAM. WHEREAS, the United States Congress has passed the LandandWaterConservationFundActof1965 (Public Law 88-578),authorizing the Secretary of the Interior to provide financialassistancetostates, and political subdivisions thereof, foroutdoorrecreationpurposes; And, WHEREAS, the Texas Legislature has adopted Article 6081r,V.A.C.S., for the purpose of allowing the State of Texas, anditspoliticalsubdivisions, to participate in the Federal pro-gram established under said Public Law 88-578, or such otherprogramsasarehereinafterestablishedbytheFederalGovern-ment; And, WHEREAS, the City of Southlake is fully eligible to receiveassistanceunderthisProgram; And, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Southlake is de-sirous of authorizing its administrative staff to represent andactforthecityindealingwiththeTexasParksandWildlifeDepartmentconcerningthisProgram; Now, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OFSOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1: The City Council of the City of Southlake hereby cer-tifies that the City of Southlake is eligible to receive assist-ance under Public 88-578; as augumented by Article 6081r, V.A.C.S. Section The City Council hereby authorizes and directs itsMayortorepresentandactfortheCityofSouthlakeindealingwiththeTexasParksandWildlifeDepartmentforthepurposeofthisProgram. The Mayor is hereby officially designated as theCity's representative in this regard. Section 3: The City Council hereby designated its City Secre-tary/Treasurer as the official authorized to serve as the City'sfiscalofficertoreceiveFederalfundsforpurposesofthisProgram. Section 4: The City Council hereby specifically authorizes theCityofficialshereindesignatedtomakeapplicationtotheTexasParksandWildlifeDepartmentconcerningthetractsoflandtobeknownasSouthlakeBi-Centennial City Park in theCityofSouthlakeforuseasaparksite. That Southlake Bi-Centennial City Park is hereby dedicated for public outdoorrecreationpurposes. INTRODUCED, READ, AND PASSED by the affirmation vote of theCityCounciloftheCityofSouthlake, on this 2nd day of Decem-ber, 1975. 7 Mayor ATTEST: City Secretary APPROVED: City Att ey 195 RESOLUTION N0. 75-33 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Southlake deemsittobetothebestinterestofitscitizenstoimprovethegeneraladministrationoftheCitywhereverpossible; And, WHEREAS, the use of certain maps would be of help to thisendintheWaterDepartment, Police Department and MunicipalCourt; And, WHEREAS, Carter & Burgess, Inc., will prepare the neces-sary maps for the Water Department at a cost of $6,610, astreetmapforuseintheMunicipalCourtfor $240, and anexistingusemapwithablocknumberoverlayfor $48; Now, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OFSOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT: The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign Project AuthorizationNumbers1,2 and 3 for existing water distribution base map-ping for $6,610 from information supplied by the City, a mapdepictingstreetsonlyforuseintheMunicipalCourtfor240, and a base and existing use map with a block number gridoverlayforuseinthePoliceDepartmentatacostof $48.
