Co.1595 317.60 Gulf Oil Products 006160,006236 578.16 94 No. 161-59 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 161 OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS BY CHANGING ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF 123.66 ACRE TRACT OF LAND OUT OF THE JOHN CHILDRESS SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. 254, SITUATED IN TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, AND IN DENTON COUNTY, TEXAS, AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A" ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, FROM "AG" (AGRI- CULTURE) DISTRICT TO ZONING CLASSIFICATION "PUD" PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT) DISTRICT, PROVIDING FOR CHANGE IN OFFICIAL ZONING MAP, AND PROVIDING EFFECTIVE DATE OF AMENDMENT. WHEREAS, an application to change zoning has been filed and a public hearing conducted and all other prerequisites complied with under applicable law concerning a requested change in zoning:biassification-' n(:,conneefi one-*ith::;the property described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof; NOW THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas: SECTION 1. The certain Ordinance No. 161 passed by the City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, January 7, 1969, and being the "Comprehensive Zoning Ordi- nance" is hereby amended insofar as the property described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof is hereby changed from the zoning classification of AG" (AGRICULTURE) District to zoning classification "PUD" (PLANNED UNIT DEVELOP- MENT) District subject to compliance with all matters provided for and in the development plan attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "B". SECTION 2. The official zoning map created by said Ordinance No. 161 is hereby amended to include the zoning change made by this ordinance in connection with the property described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 3. The said Ordinance No. 161, except as officially amended by prior ordinance amendments and this ordinance No. 161-59, remains in effect in all other respects as originally passed. City Secretary 97 CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS TAX EQUALIZATION BOARD MEETING July 27, 1974 The annual meeting of the City of Southlake Tax EqualizationBoardconvenedat9o'clock A.M. in the Council Chamber of City Hall, 667 North Carroll Avenue, Southlake, Texas, with the following members present: Roger Baird, Chairman Natal,ee Nunn L. A. Casey Brad PopIkins The City Secretary swore in the Board Members in accordance with Article 7215 of Vernon's Civil Statutes. Mr. M. E. White- side, City Tax Assessor for Southlake, failed to appear becauseofillness. The following citizens appeared before the Board: J. L. Clow - He questioned the value of land being raised againasitwasraisedlastyear. Having been satisfied as to the assessment being in line with other property owners, he acqui-esced in the Board's ruling that the assessments stand. A-706,Tract 9B and A-2003, Tract 2D.) Mrs. Walter Brumbalow - She felt the assessment to be too high.The Board explained that the City Council has now passed a $3,000exemptionforthoseover65whichwillprovidesomereliefonthe1975taxesandthatthevalueplacedonthelandwasfairand comparable. A-18, Tract 1A.) Mrs. E. E. Taylor - She stated that the raise in value is not justified, that the actual value has not risen as much pro-portionately. The Chairman pointed out that the property was not assessed at its true value to begin with; hence, the cur- rent assessment is fair and should stand. So ruled the Board.A796, Tract 3A and 3C.) Mrs. George Burnett - She asked for consideration in loweringthevaueoerproperty. The Board ruled the value to be proper. A-706, Tract 8.) Bruce McCombs - Discussion was had on what seemed to be an ex- cessive value on the house. After due consideration, the Boardruledthetotalvalueofthepropertytobesetat $7,000 tax-able instead of $14,300. A-899, Tract 2B3A.) Mt. and Mrs. Bill Stowe - They wanted to be sure their value was fair in comparison with their neighbors. Having been assured 98 of same, they agreed with the Board the assessment was properA-591, Tract 2J.) Joseph Moore - He questioned the large jump in value. It waspointedoutthatthehousehadbeenremodeledbythepreviousownerandjustnowplacedontherollsatitsincreasedvalue;but that the value placed on his land was out of line with hisneighbors. Therefore, the Board set the total taxable value at4,850 instead of $5,350. A-1049, Tract 1A.) Robert L. Garner - He questioned the value placed on his new houseandstatedhisneighbor's house is about equal in size but valuedlower. The Board was in agreement that the value of the house wasfairbutthathisneighbor's was too low. The Board took into con-sideration the barn on his property being excessively valued andreducedsamefrom $3,500 to $1,040, making his total taxable valueat $21,840 from $23,600. A-18, Tract 2L.) Richard Finney, representing Tri-County Electric Co-operative,questioned the fairness of value in the amount of $85,000 on linesandpoles. It was shown that Lone Star Gas had a like amount. HeacquiescedintheBoard's ruling that the value stand as assessed. Fred H. Branan's letter to the Board was. read aloud wherein hestatedthevalueplacedonhislandwastoohigh. The Board ruledthevaluewasfair. A-300, Tract 1.) The Board recommended that the Tax Assessor check his presentassessmentsintheChiversSurvey, Abstract 300 and surroundingareas. There being no other citizens approach the Board and there beingnofurthermattersbeforeit, Mr. Popkins moved to adjourn; sec-onded by Mrs. Nunn. All were in favor; the motion passed unanimously,whereby the meeting did adjourn and the business at hand ended forthisyear, 1974, sine die.
