TO THE HON. MAYOR & COUNCIL:
Gentlemen:
At the regular meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission held
Tuesday, May 28, 1974, David Moak moved that the Final Plat of
Jellico Estates be accepted provided the plat be changed to
show front building line to be 75' and side building line to be 15'
so as to agree with restriction covenant #3 and that the
surveyor date the plat; seconded by Eleanor Kasper. Motion
carried unanimously.

RESOLUTION NO. 74- 16
WHEREAS, the Federal Government has allocated
7,110.00 to the City of Southlake for the fifth
entitlement period, July 1, 1974 through June 30,
1975 under the Revenue Sharing Program; And
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Southlake
has held public meetings to determine the expendi-
ture of these funds; Now,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS;
That the following budget of $7,110.00 is hereby adopted:
City Hall Expansion 7,110.00

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING $3,000.00
EXEMPTION ON RESIDENCE HOMESTEADS
FOR PERSONS 65 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER
ON CITY AD VALOREM TAXES
WHEREAS, the Constitution of Texas was amended by a vote
of the electorate of the State of Texas on November 7, 1972;
and,
WHEREAS, part of such amendment was the addition of sub-
section b) to Section 1-b of Article 8 of the Texas Constitution
which amendment permits the governing body of a political sub-
division to exempt not less than 3,000.00 of the assessed value
of residence homesteads of persons 65 years of age or older:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS:
1.
That pursuant to Article VIII. Section 1-b(b) of the Texas
Constitution, 3,000.00 of the assessed value of residence
homesteads of persons sixty-five years of age or older, shall be
exempt from City of Southlake ad valorem taxes when taxes are levied
for the year 1975, and all subsequent levies, as approved by the
City Council, upon the homestead right owners' compliance with the
following requirements:
a). An owner of t'he residence homestead right shall be 65
years of age or older as of January 1, of the applicable tax year.
b). An owner of the residence homestead right shall submit to
the Tax Assessor-Collector of the City of Southlake before April
30, 1975 and before each April 30 of subsequent years, an affidavit
accompanied by adequate proof that the owner of said residence

W. The initial exemption cl-aim shall be accompanied
by adequate proof of age but subsequent renewals of the
exemption may be made by affidavit only if the Tax Assessor-
Collector does not desire additional proof;
d). A claimant for such tax exemption for any particular
taxable year shall also meet all other lawful qualifications
determined and prescribed by the City Council of the City of
Southlake for such exemption.
2.
That any person who makes a false affidavit in claiming a
homestead exemption shall be subject to all penalties and interest
charges which accrue for lack of payment of taxes, and all other
appropriate criminal penalties.
3.
Such tax exemption shall only apply for the particular
taxable year for which the applicant properly applies and qualifies.
