ORDINANCE NO. 171
AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRI-
TORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY
OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT SUCH
AREA SHALL BECOME A PART OF SAID CITY AND
THAT THE OWNERS AND INHABITANTS THEREOF
SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE PRIVILEGES
OF THE OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID CITY, AND
BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW
IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREINAFTER ADOPTED:
FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND COR-
RECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID
CITY AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED
AND " DESI GNAT ING THE ZONING AS "AG"
AGRICULTURE DISTRICT, AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Acts of
1953, 53rd Legislature, Page 357, Chapter 93, codified as
Article 974-G, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, Robert L.
Norman et ux, Shirley Norman, owners of the real property
hereinafter described, having made application as by law
provided to the Mayor and City Council of the City of
Southlake, Texas, for annexation of a tract of land situ-
ated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being one acre, more or
less, out of the Leonard Lincoln Survey, Abstract No. 981,
Tract B, more fully described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point 855 feet South of a steel
stake in the Northwest corner of a 1014 acre
tract of land deeded tD Leona Tanner, said stake
being 1,438.2 feet North and 2,616.1 feet West
of the Southeast corner of the Leonard Lincoln
Survey;
THENCE North 0 degrees 3 minutes West along
the East line of County Road No. 3061, 95 feet
to a stake;
THENCE North 89 degrees 35 minutes East 460, to a stake;
THENCEjSouth 0 degrees 3 minutes East 95' to a stake;
THENCE West 460 feet to the point of BEGINNING,
containing one acre of land, more or less.
A plat of said land showing its location with respect
to the boundary of the City of Southlake, Texas, is attached
hereto marked EXHIBIT "A"; And
WHEREAS, it appearing to the City Council of the City
of Southlake, Texas, that all statutory requirements in
connection with said proposed annexation have been fulfilled

and that the above described area is not more than 2 mile in
widt4 that not more than three qualified voters reside thereon,
and that the same is adjacent to the present city limits of
the City of Southlake, Texas,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE,
TEXAS:
1.
THAT, the property hereinabove described being adjacent and
contiguous to the city limits of Southlake, Texas, be and
is hereby annexed and brought within the Corporate Limits
of said City and is hereby made an integral part thereof.

THAT, the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed
be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of other
citizens and property owners of said City and be bound by
all of the acts and ordinances made in conformity thereto,
now in full force and effect and that which may be here-
after adopted.

r THAT, the official map and boundaries of the City of
Southlake, Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended, be
and is hereby amended so as to include the aforementioned
territory as part of the City of Southlake, Texas.

THAT, in accordance with Section IV-4 of Ordinance No. 161,
the land made the basis of this annexation proceeding is
hereby zoned "Ag" Agriculture District.
THIS ordinance shall become effective from and after its
passage and approval.

GREETINGS :
I, the undersigned, J. R. Keeton, Jr., of Dallas
County, Texas, hereinafter called Petitioner, represents as follows:
1. That he is the owner of a tract of land out of the
Heirs of Christopher Dart Survey and W. H. Martin Survey in
Tarrant County, Texas, more particularly described by metes and
bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a concrete monument in the South
line of said Heirs of Christopher Dart Survey, 1620.0 feet South
r 89 degrees, 39 minutes West from the Southeast corner of said
Survey; said be& nning point being in the South line of Guy A.
Robinson Tract; Thence South 89 degrees 39 minutes West 1616.3
feet with the South line of said Heirs of Christopher Dart Survey,
passing the Southeast corner of the W. H. Martin Survey, to a
concrete monument at fence corner in the South line of said W.
H. Martin Survey and in the East line of County'Road No. 3035,
said point being the Southwest corner of said Guy A. Robinson
Tract; Thence Ndr'th 0 degrees 32 minutes West with the East line
of County Road No- 3035, 538.2 feet to a concrete monument in
fence line; Thence North 89 degrees, 39 minutes East and paral-
lel to the South line of the W. H. Martin Survey and the South
line of the heirs of Christopher Dart Survey, 1621.3 feet to a
concrete monument for corner; Thence South 538.2 feet to'"the

Southlake, Texas,
GREETINGS :
We, the undersigned, Owen W. L. Barnett and wife,
Dorothy Barnett, of Tarrant County, Texas, hereinafter called
Petitioners, represent as follows:
1. That they are the owners of a tract of land out
of the Christopher Dart and William H. Martin Surveys in
Tarrant County, Texas, more particularly described by metes
and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a concrete monument 274.3
varas west of the northeast corner of the C. Dart Survey and
the southeast corner of the C. M. Throop Survey; THENCE west
along the north line of the C. Dart Survey and the north line
of the Wm. H. Martin Survey 806.7 varas to a 10 inch Post Oak
tree in the east line of a road, from which a concrete monu-
ment bears east 1.5 feet; THENCE south 0 degrees 45 minutes
east along the east line of said road 365 varas to a concrete
monument; THENCE east 801.9 varas to a concrete monument;
THENCE north 365 varas to the place of beginning, containing
51.943 acres of land.
A plat of said land showing its location with respect
to the boundary of the City of Southlake, Texas, is attached
hereto marked EXHIBIT "A".
2. That the land described in EXHIBIT "A" hereto
attached is less than one-half mile in width; that less than
three qualified voters reside thereon, and is contiguous and
adjacent to the City of Southlake, Texas.
3. Your Petitioners agree that if this request for
annexation be granted, said land shall become a part of the
City of Southlake, Texas, and the said land and any future
inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all the rights and
privileges of other citizens of the City of Southlake, and
shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of said City now
in effect and as hereafter enacted.

said point being South 8,9 degrees 39 minutes West 1620,0 feet
and North 1074.64 feet from the Southeast corner of the Heirs
of Christopher Dart Survey; THENCE South 89 degrees 39 minutes
West and parallel with the South line of the Heirs of Christo-
pher Dart Survey and the South line of the W. H. Martin Survey,
1626.3 feet to a concrete monument in the East line of County
Road No. 3035; THENCE North 0 degrees 32 minutes West 49.96
