PROJECT: Sign Variance for Burger King
EXECUTIVE
SUMMARY: Fire Restaurants Management LLC is requesting approval of sign variances to Sign
Ordinance No 704-J, as amended, for a Freestanding Order Sign/Canopy at their
business located at 125 N Kimball.
DETAILS: The applicant is requesting a variance from the sign ordinance to allow an existing
Freestanding Order Sign/Canopy that was installed without a permit. This sign type
is not permitted under current regulations, and variance approval would allow the
applicant to retain it.

PROPERTY SITUATION: 125 N Kimball
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Lot 3, Block 1, Kimball/1709 Addition
CURRENT ZONING: C-3 “General Commercial District”
HISTORY: February 2, 2010; City Council approved a sign variance for Burger King
grating variance to allow for two backlit signs on the front fin of the building
with the agreement that no other sings will be placed on the building. (SV10-
001)
SIGN BOARD: Sign Board consideration of this item is scheduled to be held on August 21,
2025.
CITY COUNCIL: Tentatively scheduled for September 02, 2025.
STAFF COMMENTS: City Council approval of this request does not waive the requirement to
obtain a sign permit prior to installation. All signage must be reviewed and
approved through the City’s permitting process before any installation takes
place.
