Mr. Gregory of 1219 Ridgewood Circle, Continental Park Estates requested that the Council look into the feasibility of Grant Applications for a better quality of water for the City. Mayor Hawk informed Mr. Gregory of several different attempts by the city to japply through the Commissioner's Court for a Grant. Mayor Hawk stated that there are two processes of filtration but both are unfeasible at this time. COIT. Looney and Mr. Nichols, pertaining to the Fire Protection of the city, it was the Council's opinion that a Committee be 1 formed to look into the Fire Protection needs of the city. I Mayor Hawk requested that the Chief of DEPARTMENT REPOT Police look into the convoying problem taking place on 114. The Chief will re- port back to the council at the next meeting. jMayor Hawk asked the Water Superintendent, Wallace Cline if selling Keller water j 'would endanger Southlake water surplus. 1 YT. Cline assured the Mayor and Council I that the city has plenty of water. The Fire Chief stated the need for the city to have an Arson Investigator. City ecretary i 1 i CITIZENS ADVISORY GROUP ( SEWER ) FUNCTION The Group's functions are to work with the members of the Planning and Zoning Commission to develop a comphrehensive Sewer Plan by: (a) Gathering date from pertinent organizations or agencies. (b) Performing studies and holding discussions. (c) Defining requirements or needs of Southlake. (d) Establishing priorities and swquence. (e) Evaluating population trends and effects. (f) Evaluating cost and financing. i LIAISON I A member of the Planning and Zoning Commission will attend each meeting of the Group to act as liaison. ORGANIZATION The committee shall consist of registered electors appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Council, one of which has been designated as chairperson. MEETINGS The Committee shall meet in work sessions at least twice each month. All meetings shall be posted and open to the public. A simple majority of members shall constitute a quorum. TERM The life of this Committee shall be six months unless extended or shortened by the City Council. ATTENDANCE It is expected that each member of the Committee shall attempt to attend every meeting, but it is understood that emergencies will occur. Should a member of the Committee miss three consecutive meetings, it will be assumed that the member no longer desires to serve on the committee and that member will be . removed. Should a member submit a written justification to the Chairperson prior to the third absence, this will be taken into consideration. END PRODUCT A written report will be prepared documenting the Group's recommendations for the Comphrehensive Sewer Plan The report shall include the elements of a plan for providing sewage to all of Southlake. The Plan shall address the following: (a) Types of systems, proposed and geographic areas served. (b) Priorities and sequesnce/timetable recommended. (c) Governmental requirements. (d) Interface agencies. (e) Proposed financing methods ( for each sequent of system if proposed incrementally).
