COUNCILPERSONS ABSENT: Brad Popkin; Lloyd Harper. STAFF PRESENT: Police Chief; Day- mond Gaddy, Fire Chief; Bob Steele, Water Superintendent; Wallace Cline. INVOCATION: Mayor Pro Tem; Sam Sparger. The minutes of the March 6,1979, meeting were approved as corrected. MAYOR'S REPORT: MAYOR's REPORT Mayor Hawk indicated that the engineering firms asked to bid on the long range water supply feasibility study have responded. The council is to review the report before the next council meeting, where they will be discussed. Mayor Pro Tem, Sparger, reported that he requested Carter and Burgess to inspect the finished street, Scenic Drive, in the Continental Park Subdivision. I There was a discussion concerning the street easement in the Trail i Creek Subdivision. Thurman Head, i a property owner adjoining the easement requested the city make i a decision concerning the easement. Dan Howell requested a ZA 78-21 zoning change for a 2 acre tract ZONING of land out of a 85 acre tract, REQUEST located in the Thomas Mahan Survey, TABLED. Abstract 1049. The present zoning is Agricultural, the request is for. "H" Heavy Commercial. Mr. Howell intends to build a seafood restaur- ant on the site. There were no comments from citizens present during the public hearing. After discussion, the public hear- ing was tabled by council pending a metes and bounds description being submitted. Morrison x x ZA 78-19. The "Special Use Permit" ZA 78-19 Sparger x for the sale of on premises alcohol's -banosky x beverage was granted to Dan Howell. SPECIAL USE X Mr. Howell indicated during the GRANTED MIT public hearing that the permit will be in his name, and will be used for the seafood restaurant as described above. Morrison X ZA 79-9 Councilperson Sparger, ZA 79-9 Sparger X I x reviewed the Planning and Zoning ZONING Urbanosky x x minutes concerning the zoning actin REQUEST recommedend by the commissioners, DENIED on the request for "F" Light Indust- rial zoning for a 19.568 acre tract of land out of the Mahan Survey, Abstract 1049. Mayor Hawk read a petition presented by concerned property owners indicating they I I i are not in favor of the request. The request was made by Diamond Shamrock. Intended use was a gasoline terminal. Representing (Shamrock were Paul Nettles and i Darrell LaRue. Citizens present who spoke against the action were: ;Bob Lyford, Lloyd Martinson, Richard I ;Zimbrod. There were no favorable 1comments from citizens. FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT: FIRE DEPARTMENT Chief Steele informed the council REPORT that 20 men in the Southlake Fire Department took the test for the ECA Course. The course was 55 hou s in length.
