Item 6B - NarrativeTo the Honorable City Officials of Southlake, I write to you not only as the co-chair but also as a long time Southlake Resident and Business owner, and as someone who believes deeply in the transformative power of cultural celebration and civic unity. It is with great passion and clear intent that I submit this Letter of Intent to produce the 2025 Hispanic Heritage Celebration in Southlake Town Center —an event that stands to uplift, inspire, and unify our community in a wayfew others can. Southlake is a city defined by excellence —one that values education, prosperity, and tradition. But what elevates any great city to a truly exceptional one is its ability to embrace cultural diversity, celebrate shared values, and create inclusive experiences where all voices feel seen, heard, and honored. The Hispanic Heritage Celebration is not just a festival —it is a platform for awareness, a bridge to understanding, and a catalyst for meaningful connection among neighbors. This event will spotlight the rich heritage, accomplishments, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities —locally and nationally —through music, food, storytelling, art, and dialogue. It will invite residents, visitors, and businesses to engage with one another in an environment built on appreciation, education, and unity. Beyond the social and cultural importance, the event also carries significant economic value. Hispanic Heritage celebrations across the country have proven to attract tourism, generate local business revenue, and create vibrant partnerships between cities and entrepreneurs. Southlake has the infrastructure, the reputation, and the opportunity to Lead by example —positioning itself as a city that doesn't shy away from diversity, but leans into it with pride and purpose. It's also important to share that this vision is rooted right here in Southlake. Our board of directors —comprised of 10 dedicated individuals —are all Southlake residents and business owners. These are your neighbors, your local leaders, and community investors who care deeply about the direction and future of our city. Their commitment reflects not only passion, but ownership and accountability to ensure this event is a success that aligns with Southlake's values. It is our intention for the Hispanic Heritage Celebration to become an annual signature event that community members of all backgrounds will look forward to year after year. With time, we envision this becoming a beloved tradition —one that strengthens our city's identity, welcomes new families, and becomes a cornerstone of Southlake's cultural calendar. I understand there may be concerns about programming, logistics, or perception —but I assure you, we specialize in excellence. Our team is prepared to collaborate closely with city officials, local law enforcement, and town center leadership to ensure a well - organized, family -friendly, and safe celebration that reflects the high standards Southlake is known for. This is more than an event —it's a statement. A declaration that Southlake is not only a place of affluence and achievement, but also of empathy, inclusion, and vision. By approving the 2025 Hispanic Heritage Celebration, you are not only hosting a festival —you are making history, and shaping the future of a more connected and compassionate community. We are eager to work hand in hand with you to make this vision a reality —and to build a tradition that Southlake families will cherish for generations to come. Thank you for your time, your leadership, and your commitment to the future of this great city.
