Construction Manager at Risk contract with Lee Lewis
Construction, Inc. in the amount of $23,294,853 for the
construction of the new DPS headquarters
Background
Information: The project plans for the construction of a new DPS
Headquarters facility to house both the Police and Fire
Services were presented to the City Council in April
2007. Following that meeting, the construction
documents were prepared involving a number of our
staff along with a variety of technical consultants and
our architect Robert Garza and Associates. Bids were
received on 12 March 2008 and then analyzed by Lee
Lewis, Inc. This bid represents the contract for the
construction of the new DPS Headquarters, including:
■ Required "Off -site improvements such as the new
portion of Division and State Street I
■ Required utilities like storm sewer and sanitary
sewer all the way to 114.
■ Demolition of all improvements that were on the site
and removal of necessary trees..
■ On site Civil work such as excavation, grading,
subsurface drainage, surface drainage, lime
