SUBJECT: North DPS Facility - Design Review
Action Requested: Review presentation by Robert Garza and provide input on design of facility.
Background
Information: The space needs assessment results were completed in October and presented
to the Board in November 2004. The following three months consisted of
several meetings in which architects, agents, civil engineers, city staff and
board members met to collaborate and develop the design of the facility.
Robert Garza with RPGA will present the results of these meetings for the
Board's review and input. Afterwards, community meetings will be
scheduled and conducted.
Financial
Considerations: The pre -design phase of the planning is included in the Architectural Fees
already approved by the Board and City Council.
Financial
Impact: This project is funded entirely by the half -cent Crime Control and Prevention
District sales tax and not by property taxes.
Citizen Input/
Board Review: While no formal citizen input is required, all members of DPS have had the
opportunity to review and provide input into the needs of the facility. At
least two SPIN meetings will be conducted following the January CCPD
Board meeting.
Legal Review: No legal review is necessary.
