program. No packet document.
B. Home for the Holidays Debrief- This item allows for a debrief on the Home for the
Holidays event. No packet document.
C. 2024 YAC Summit Discussion- This item allows for a discussion about SYAC
participation in the 2024 Texas Municipal League Youth Action Commission
Summit hosted in Lewisville, TX on Saturday, February 3 and Sunday, February

D. Guest Speaker: Civil Engineer, Bryan Ahumada- This item allows for a
discussion with Civil Engineer, Bryan Ahumada about the City's Pathways
Program and sidewalk mobility. No packet document.

Call to Order
Meeting was called to order at 4:17 PM by Milenka Lopez.
2. Consent
A. Approve the minutes from the Southlake Youth Action Commission meeting
held October 09, 2023- Motion to approve the minutes with no corrections
was made by Safiy Islam and seconded by Allison Bedwell. Motion carried (5-
0).
3. Consider
A. Election of Southlake Youth Action Commission Chair, Vice -Chair and
Secretary
Assistant to the Director Milenka Lopez presented Item 3A for consideration.
The Southlake Youth Action Commission Board Members briefly deliberated
interest in the officer positions of Chair, Vice -Chair, and Secretary.
APPROVED
A motion was made by Anya Reddy to elect Srishthi Das as Chair, Safiy
Islam as Vice -Chair, and Allison Bedwell as Secretary. Motion carried 6-0.

4. Discussion
A. Adopt -A -Street Date Selection -
Assistant to the Director presented SYAC's obligation to conduct 3 clean-up
events of Shady Oak Dr. Community Relations Manager Vicky Schiber
suggested postponing clean up events to the New Year to allow for
construction of the road to finish.
Direction to Staff- Put on agenda for next calendar year.
B. 2024 YAC Summit Discussion —
Assistant to the Director, Milenka Lopez introduced the 2024 YAC Summit to
be held in Lewisville in February 2024 and explained there is money in the
budget to take all SYAC members.
Direction to Staff- Bring more information at next meeting to see who can go.
C. Guest Speaker: Community Events Safety and Logistics with Police Captain
and SRO, Blas Hernandez -
Police Captain Hernandez presented his job as a Police Captain and School
Resource Officer to SYAC members and was available to answer questions.
He also went over the Home for the Holidays event map and explained how
the Police Department ensures the safety of large city events.
Direction to Staff: None.
D. Home for the Holidays Staffing and Planning
Community Relations Manager Vicky Schiber gave updates on the logistics of
Home for the Holidays and confirmed that 10 SYAC members were available
to work the booths. Booth assignments were made and SYAC members were
told they would get double community hours for working from 3:30- 8:00 PM.
Direction to Staff- None.
5. Adlournment — Srishthi Das adjourned the meeting at 5:25 p.m.
