The Minutes of the August 2,1983 City
Council meeting were approved as
presented.
MAYORS REPORT: Mayor Sparger read
letters of appreciation from citizens
concerning professionalism of the
city staff and police officers.
Council was briefed on a letter from
Vernie Henderson of Lone Star Gas
Company concerning Residential
Conservation Service Charges.
Councilperson Tom Loris officially
tendered his resignation as a member
of the City Council, as he will be
moving from the area. This will be
effective immediately following
the meeting.
ZA 83-28. The zoning request for a ZA 83-28
23.371 acre tract of land out of the ZONING
J.J. Chivers Survey, Abstract 350, APPROVED
Latta x x was approved from Agricultural to TO A-1.
Westerholm x A-1 Single Family District. Latta
McCombs x x reported that the Planning and
Loris x Zoning Commission.unanimously
Bone x recommended approval. Owner, Robert
McPherson was present for the meeting.

ZA 83-28. The preliminary plat for PRE.
the Alamo Estates Addition was discuss PLAT
ed by Council. Mr. McPherson was ALAMO
Latta x present and answered questions. Motion ESTATES
Westerholm x was made to approve the plat with the
McCombs x x corrections, in regards to easement
Loris x lines. There will be no road easement
Bone x x required on White Chapel and East Dove
on the McPherson property that is not
included in Alamo Estates.
Councilperson Westerholm wished the
minutes to reflect his opposition is
on the grounds of a technicality, and
not on the subdivision itself.
Approval was given for an amendment APPROVING
to Ordinance No. 261 to allow for ORDINANCE
Commercial Communication Towers by NO. 261-C
Special Exception Use Permits in TOWERS.
Latta x x heavy commercial and light industrial.
Westerholm x Thus making Ordinance No. 261-C.
McCombs x It was noted that the Planning and
Loris x x Zoning Commission recommended the
Bone x amendment by a unanimous vote.
Latta recommended that FAA approval
be included when applications are
made for towers when the height
is such to require it.
During the public hearing, Carman
Blankenship gave a presentation. She
represented Advanced Mobile Phone
Services.
A public hearing was held to
discuss the proposed Fiscal Year 1984
Budget. Mayor Sparger reviewed
TAD ad valorum figures for Council.
Westerholm presented the bids for
landscaping the front of City Hall.
They include:
Regan Plant Farm $2,893.
Kathys(plants only 1,500.
Good Morning (plants only) 1,238.

Approval was given to reimburse the
