The Minutes of the July 20,1982
meeting were approved as presented.
MAYORS REPORT:
Mayor Sparger announced that an item
for future consideration will be "a
policy for Commercial Structures
in Southlake".
Fire Chief Steele, reported he
received a bid of $750.- $800. for
Unit 3002, the old pumper. That pric
is for a stripped vehicle.
Council was polled and there were
no objections to selling the vehicle
for the price mentioned above.
ZA 82-16. After extensive discussion ZA 82-16

A worksession has been held regarding
the request for a special exception
use permit, and the motion was made to
reject the permit on the grounds that
Council does not have the right to
make the variance.
ZA 82-21. The final plat for the E. ZA 82-21
Latta x x A. Smith Addition was approved as E.A. SMITI
Loris x presented. Mrs. Peggy Knox, was PLAT
Westerholm x present and represented Mr. Smith. APPROVEL

Bone x x It was noted that Lot 1, being narrow
does not lend itself to further
subdivision.
ZA 82-22. The preliminary plat of th
Woodland Heights Addition and the
zoning request was discussed as one
item.
Mr. Richard Eakins, of Burger and
Eakins Custom Builders, owners of the
property was present and showed
slides of the property. The 60.78
acre tract of land is out of the J.A.
Freeman Survey, Abstract 529. Latta
reported that the P & Z minutes
reflect a positive vote was made by
them.
During the public hearing, the

reflect concern over future owners of

being in the middle of the Industrial
District, also that there was concern
over noise from the DFW airport.
ZA 82-23 The final plat of Burnett ZA 82-23
Acres was approved as presented. The BURNETT
Simplified Subdivision Procedure ACRES
was used in preparing the plat. FINAL PLAT
The property is located in the T.M.

Latta indicated the Highway Department MEETING
is willing to work with the City in
correcting the problem areas along
Highway 114 at Shady Lane. Copies
of the correspondence concerning the
matter are hereby a part of the minutes.
Approval was given for the purchase COMMUNICA
of Communications Equipment for the TIONS
Police, Water and Fire Departments. EQUIPMET '
The total cost is to be $ 5,709. The PURCHASI

to match our communications equipment
Motorola was suggested.
Approval was given to donate the old
communications tower to the Civil Air
Patrol in Plano. The City will keep
the antenna, however.
