INVOCATION: Lloyd Latta The minutes of the January 20,1981, City Council meeting were approved as presented. MAYORS REPORT: During the Mayors report, Councilman Latta reported he is still working on specs for the Communications Project. COUNCILPERSON z z PAGE: 2 INDEX A rate increase for the garbage RATE collection service was discussed. INCREASE J.C. Hubbard, owner of Hubbard GARBAGE Service Company was present and answered questions for the Council and for citizens during the public hearing Those who spoke include: Johnny Westerholm, Leonard Russell, Mrs. Maxwell, Nelson Miller and Mrs. Bill Stowe. Stricker x Motion was made to approve the rate Latta x x increase as proposed, and also extend Urbanosky x x the franchise agreement for three years, Massey x to become effective April 1. The new rates include: $5. per month for curb side service, twice per week and $7. per month for tub out service, twice per week service. Customers are to be notified of the rate increase by way of a newsletter. The proposed Zoning Ordinance No. 261 was introduced by chairman of the Citizens Advisory Committee, Roy Lee. He highlighted the major changes. During the public hearing, the following citizens had questions: Harold Knight, Lloyd Martinson, Mrs. Larry Sarmartin, Bill Stowe. Nelson Miller, chairman of the P & Z also spoke in favor of the new Ordinance. The public hearing will be continued at the next city council meeting. The preliminary plat for Phase 2 and 3 of the Briarwood Estates Subdivisio was presented by the owner, Dan Howell.
