The Minutes of the August 5,1980
City Council meeting were approved
as presented.
Mayor Hawk reminded Council of the
excused absence of Councilperson
Latta.
Resolution 80-20, approving the ESOLUTIO1

Massey x x for the Fiscal Year 1981, were approve .APPROVE)
The Tax Roll as prepared by the Tax
Assessor, Will Zschiesche, indicated
the Valuation is $21,374,548.00
Under the Mayor's report, repairs to
a Fire Truck was considered as an
emergency item. Sparger informed
Council as to the degree of repairs
that needed to be done to the cab and
tank in order to get the unit back in
service. Several bids had been
acquired by Chief Steele.
After discussion, motion was made and
Sparger x x approved to accept Ragsdales bid of

While discussing the Fiscal Year 1981
Budget, Mayor Hawk briefed the Citizen
present on the make up of a budget. H
also outlined the Capital Outlay items
that will be covered in a Bond Program
in the fall. The proposed budget was
reviewed, department by department.
The raises proposed for employees were
based on a loo increase for the most
part.
During the public hearing, the follow-
ing citizens had comments:
Leonard Russell was concerned about
water being used by private contractor 3.
Harold Knight requested to know the
amount budgeted for engineering study
for TRA.
Ed Rhodes had questions concerning
taxes in Southlake for the upcomming
year.
The public hearing was closed and FY 81
Mayor Hawk asked for approval of the BUDGET
FY81 Budget with one change. The APPROVED
funding for the Single Appraisal
Tax District will come out of
contingency reserve for general fund.

Urbanosky x x Motion was made and approved to accept
Massey x the FY81 Budget with the change mention-
ed above.
Mary Dorsett of 3010 Lake Drive,
addressed Council stating her concerns
over weeds in residential areas.
She indicated Southlake has a City
Ordinance but possibly we need some-
thing stronger. Weeds are covered
in Ordinance No. 162-G.
Councilperson Massey presented an
amendment to Ordinance No. 161,Sectio
VII, Traffic Visibility.

The final plat for the Peck Addition PECK
Sparger x x was approved as presented. It ADDITION
Urbanosky x established that corrections had been APPROVED

by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Approval is also subject to a release
by Mr and Mrs. Madden.
