The invocation was given by Sam
Sparger.
' The minutes of the April 15,1980,
Regular City Council meeting were
approved as corrected. The minutes
of the April 29,1980, Special City
Council meeting were also approved
as corrected.
Under the Mayors Report, Mayor Hawk
thanked Jerry Black and other member
of the Parks Commission for all the
work they did in making the Park
I~ Baseball Field Dedication Day such
a success.
Councilman Latta gave a report on STATUS
the status of the City of Keller/ KELLER/
Southlake Water Purchase. He inidca SOUTHLAR
ed that he, Joe Gregory, Bill Bell WATER
j of Carter and Burgess, and Wallace PURCHAS
Cline, Water Superintendent, went
to Austin on May 5, and went before
the Public Utility Commission. They
obtained an extension on the case
until July 5.

Fire Chief, Bob Steele, reported
i that on June 5, the Volunteer Fire
Department will be sponsoring a
Country Western Music Proffram, and
that tickets are now on sale.

cuse the absence. Latta abstained
from voting.
Representatives Nel Blanton and
David Collier, gave a presentation
from Texas Power and Light request-
ing a rate increase. Mayor Hawk
indicated that council will hold
a public hearing concerning the
rate increase at the next city
council meeting.

During the public hearing citizens,
Jeff Ault and Rite Cannella both
suggested littering of city parks
as an item to add to the ordinance.
However, Attorney, Joe Gregory indi-
cated due to the fact that littering
was not included in the legal notice
advertisement, that we should not
add it to the ordinance. Motion
N was made and approve to approve the
j Ordinance as written.

i During the discussion on the HUD HUD
re-allocation of grant funds, Mr. FUNDS
Thrasher, representative, was prese tRE-ALLC
t and explained to the Council and iCATED.
i Citizens present, that the funds
from the 4th year grant, allocated
' for street, in the amount of $40,000.
were not used, however, this could
be transfered to the water line
extension project. The current
project involves water line enlarge-
ment in the area of South White
Chapel, South Carroll, and Continental
Blvd.
Mr. Thrasher explained that new bids
for the second phase will be
necessary.
The public hearing resulted with
questions from Mrs Rita Cannella
of Brookwood Lane, and Jeff Ault
of West Highland.
