REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL

The City Council of the City of Southlake Texas, met i
Y , , in regular
session in the Council Chamber of City Hall in Southlake on Tues-
day, July 3, 1973, with the following members present:
Wade Booker, Mayor
W. 0. Nunn, Councilman
R. D. Drummond, Councilman
Frank Tetrault, Councilman
Absent: Billy Joe Knox, Mayor Pro Tem
Sam Davis, Councilman
Also present: William D. Campbell, City Attorney.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 7:30 P.M. The
invocation was given by Councilman Nunn.
The Minutes of the last regular meeting were approved as read.
The Mayor advised the Council that the Fire Department report is
tabled to the next regular Council meeting.
The father-in-law of Mr. R. C. Bearden appeared in his behalf as
he is ill. The Council was asked for a building permit to be
issued in an area where subdividing has taken place but a plat
never recorded. The City Attorney explained what steps are nec-
essary. Mrs. Bearden, who appeared with her father, was instructed
to appear before the Planning & Zoning Commission to ascertain how
much they would require in the way of getting a plat approved.
Police Department report was given by Chief D. R. Hughes. Council-
man Nunn moved that the Chief purchase two tires for the 172 car;
seconded by Councilman Tetrault. Motion carried unanimously. '
Resolution No. 73-18: calling for the Tax Equalization Board to
meet July 21, 1973, from 9 A.M. til Noon, and appointing L. A.
Casey, Roger Baird and David Moak, with R. P. Steele as substitute '
if needed, was passed and approved on motion by Councilman Nunn;
seconded by Councilman Drummond. Motion carried unanimously. (Said
(Resolution attached hereto and made a part hereof.) '
Mayor Booker asked the Council to study the adoption of a sign
® ordinance. He also requested the City Attorney to prepare a junk
car ordinance.

Councilman Drummond advised that Dr. J. W. Richards, DVM, is
planning to build an animal clinic on his property here in South-
lake and would like to have use of a trailer on a temporary basis
in which to conduct business until such construction is complete
or 120 days expire, whichever occurs first. He said there would
be a sign on the trailer stating "Temporary". The Council was in
complete agreement that Dr. Richards be permitted to do this.
The City Attorney advised the Council that the Directors of NTCOG
postponed adoption of the noise ordinance until further legal
study is made. He also advised that the attorney for the Van-
landingham matter called about a trial date to be worked out some-
time in August; and further stated there would be a request for
zoning on property mostly in Keller and partly in Southlake.
Mr. Jimmy Truelove appeared before the Council at the request of
the Mayor to offer assistance and/or information regarding various
engineering firms. He said he would get back with the Council at
a later date.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
