Approval of Outstanding Bills. i~ 63 ® CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL April 3, 1973 a The City Council of the City of Southlake met in regular session in the Council Chamber of City Hall in Southlake, Texas, on Tues- day, April 3, 1973, with the following members present: Wade Booker, Mayor W. 0. Nunn, Councilman R. D. Drummond, Councilman Frank Tetrault, Councilman J. A. Perez, Councilman Absent: Billy Joe Knox, Councilman Also present: W. D. Campbell, City Attorney Mayor Booker called the meeting to order at 1:40 P.M. The invo- cation was given by Councilman Nunn. The minutes of the last regular meeting were approved as read. Mayor Booker proclaimed the month of April to be "Junior Volun- teer Firemen Month".with -.special-=-.reaognition to Firemen John Shelton and Steve White for heroism. Awards to each were presented by Chris Blumberg of the Mid-Cities Ambulance Service. Fire Department report was presented by Chief R. P. Steele. ' Attache He reported all the equipment to be in working order at the moment. He then announced that the annual Fish Fry will be May 27th at the same location (Holiday Acres). Police Department report was given by Chief D. R. Hughes. He re- ported that the teletype machine is to be installed Friday. He further advised that the new warrant officer, Henry Drake, was doing a good job. Councilman Tetrault moved that another $10 be spent for more "theft guard" stickers; seconded by Councilman Perez. Motion carried unanimously. Water Department report was given by Supt. W. G. Cline. He ad- vise t e Council that only two bids for painting the ground storage tank at Well Site #1 had been received and advised the lowest bid to be the one submitted by the Watertower Paint & Repair Company, Inc., of Clear Lake, Iowa. Whereupon, Council- man Perez moved to pass and approve Resolution No. 73-8 accepting I 64 ® such bid and authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with said company for the painting of said tank; seconded by Councilman Drummond. Motion carried unanimously. (Resolution No. 73-8 attached hereto and made a part hereof.) Model Airport Noise Zoning Ordinance & Building Code Supplement meeting at COG was reported to the Council by the City Secretary. Cities affected by the Regional Airport are encouraged to adopt an ordinance now being drafted regarding compatible development around the airport. The ordinance would provide for'larkd :e and noise preventive construction in areas affected by the airport noise cones. Dr. Jack Randorff will meet with the Council and the Planning & Zoning Commission here at 7:30, April 10th to discuss, explain, and answer questions about the model ordinance. Further meetings will be held. at COG. The bills presented were approved for payment on motion by Council- man Drummond; seconded by Councilman Nunn. Motion carried unanimously.
