REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 7, 1972
The City Council of the City of Southlake met in regular session
in the City Secretary's office of City Hall in Southlake, Texas,
on Tuesday, November 7, 1972 (Election Day) with the following
members present:
Wade Booker, Mayor
Billy Joe Knox, Mayor Pro Tem
W. O. Nunn, Councilman
R. D. Drummond, Councilman (arriving late)
J. A. Perez, Councilman
Albsent: Frank Tetrault, Councilman
Also present: William D. Campbell, City Attorney
The Mayor called the meeting to order at 8:30 P.M. t
The reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting was dis-
pensed with.
ZA-72-9: Those present at this public hearing were asked if they
had any comments either pro or con on this request by the City to
grant F District zoning in conformance with the Master Plan on
property owned by Anderson Industries, Inc., (Metal Buildings
Corporation), presently operating its business as a non-conform-
ing use, said land consisting of twenty acrds eimiwi, more or
less, described by metes and bounds in the zoning application.
The Planning & Zoning Commission recommended approval of this
request. Mr. and Mrs. Bu A. Cummings asked the exact location
of the property. There being no further questions and no objec-
tions, Councilman Knox moved to adopt Ordinance No. 161-45,
changing the zoning of said land fcom Ag District to F District;
seconded by Councilman Nunn. Motion carried unanimously. (Copy
attached and made a part hereof.)
ZA-'7'2'=10: No one was present at this public hearing to speak ,
-either for or against the request of Theron Ragan to change the
zoning on approximately twenty acres of land owned by him, des-
cribed by metes and bounds in said application, from Ag District '
to F District in conformance with the Master Plan and recommended
for approval by the Planning & Zoning Commission. Whereupon,
® Councilman Nunn moved that 8_dnan No_ 161-IL be adopted changing

the zoning of the land described therein from Ag District to
F District; seconded by Councilman Perez. Motion carried un-
animously. (Copy attached and made a part hereof.)
ZA-72-11: No one appeared at this public hearing to speak
either or or against the zoning request of Alfred Pinson
on his property described in said application by metes and
bounds. The request is for the purpose of a non-conforming
use to be absolved but does not conform to the Master Plan.
The Planningt& Zoning Commission recommended denial of the
request. Councilman Knox moved that the tbquest for F
District on said property be denied; seconded by Councilman
Perez. Motion carried unanimously.
Police Department report was given by Chief Hughes (attached).
He requested Council approval of hhe purchase of a camera as
provided in the current Budget. Councilman Knox so moved;
seconded by Councilman Nunn. Motion carried unanimously.
(Should prices exceed the amount in the Budget for the type
of camera needed, the Chief is to report back to the Council.)
Following discussion of a teletype, Councilman Knox moved to
have Chief Hughes acquire one for the Southlake Police Depart-
ment through COG at an installation cost of $36 plus $68.50
monthly rental as provided in the current Budget; seconded by
Councilman Nunn. Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Booker informed the Council that the City of Roanoke
had contacted him for information egarding cooperative law
enforcement. He further advised/deir possible interest in
securing the 1971 Plymouth from Southlake.
I Councilman Knox moved that all the bills presented be approved
for payment including Chief Steele's order for five additional
Fire DepartmentkWges at a cost of $31.50; seconded by Council-
man Nunn. Motion carried unanimously.
Janitorial services were next discussed. Councilman Perez
moved that the AAA Company be hired to do a one time job onthe
City Hall floors at a c6st of $90.00 with a view toward a con-
tract basis later; seconded by Councilman Knox. Motion carried
unanimously.
I Councilman Knox moved that the City Secretary be sent to the TML
Convention in Dallas November 12-14th; seconded by Counciftann
Nunn. Motion carried unanimously.
Resolution No. 72-21, calling for cancellation of certain taxes
to correct errors in the 1968, 1969, 1970 and 1971 Rolls, was
® passed and approved on motion by Councilman Knox; seconded by
