CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS
REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
AUGUST 1 1972
The City Council of the City of Southlake met in regular session
in the Council Chamber of City Hall in Southlake, Texas, on Tues-
day, August 1, 1972, with the following members present:
Wade Booker, Mayor '
Ralph Polson, Mayor Pro Tem
Billy Joe Knox, Councilman '
W. 0. Nunn, Councilman
R. D. Drummond, Councilman
Frank Tetrault, Councilman
Absent: William D. Campbell, City Attorney ,
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Booker at 7:30 P.M. The
invocation was given by Councilman Knox.
The minutes of the last regular meeting were approved as read.
T R.A. Sewer System Project meeting was reported on b Council- '
man Po son who attended. The Mayor thanked him for the good
report. '
Open Space Proposals which met at NCTCOG in Arlington was reported
on by Councilman Nunn. He, too, was thanked for his report.
Fire Department report was given by Chief Bob Steele. The Council
was informed that all equipment is presently operational.
Police Department report was given by Capt. Dan Cordes. Council-
man Knox moved that Chief Hughes be given permission to attend a
police school to be held in Bandera September 19 thru 15th; '
seconded by Councilman Nunn. Motion carried unanimously. (The
cost of said school is $10.)
A request was made to raise the salary of officer Lee, who ,
has completed initial certification, from $400 to $450 monthly.
The Council agreed to act on this request August 15th.
Capt. Cordes was authorized by the Council to have repair
work done on the 172 patrol car at an approximate cost of $48.86 '
on motion by Councilman Polson; seconded by Councilman Knox.
Motion carried unanimously.
The Mayor requested a little more surveillance on SH 114
because of increased complaints from citizens regarding rock trucks. '
The City Secretary was directed to address a letter to Foust
Funeral Home requesting that our firemen are permitted to work ,
traffic accidents.

Councilman Knox moved that the bills presented be approveJfor
1 payment; seconded by Councilman Polson. Motion carried un-
animously.
Resolution No..72-14: calling for,.a re-evaluation of all
property in the City for purposes of the 1973 Tax Roll was
passed and approved on motion by Councilman Knox; seconded by
Councilman Nunn. Moto carried -unanimously. [Attached hereto

Mayor Booker directed the Council's attention to a complaint
received from one of our citizens regarding General Telephone's
service. The City Secretary was instructed to send a letter to
the Company about the complaint and to so advise the complainant.
The Davis Brothers appeared and asked the Council to be heard.
The Council unanimously agreed to hear them. Discussion followed
concerning the City's ordinance pertaining to trailers.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
