REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCI-I
August 18, 1970
The City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, met in regular
session in the Council Chamber of City Hall on Tilesday, August
18, 1970, with the following members present:
Wade Booker, Mayor Pro Tern
Thurman Hearn, Councilman
Buddy Brown, Councilman
Ralph Polson, Councilman
Billy Joe Knox, Councilman
Absent: J. L. Clow, Mayor
Also present: William D. Campbell, City Attorney
Mayor Pro Tem Booker called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m.
Rev . Gene Tyson of 7•bi to " s Chapel Methodist Church gave the in-
vocation.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved as read.
ORDINANCE NO. 161 -20, amending the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance
No. 161, was read aloud by Mayor Pro Tem Booker to those present
at this public hearing wherein the fee for processing a zoning
request application is raised from $25.00 to $50.00, as was re-
commended by the Planning & Zoning Commission. Councilman Knox
moved that this ordinance be adopted; seconded by Councilman
Polson. Lotion carried unanimously. (Copy attached and made a
part hereof.)
ORDINANCE NO. 161 -21 : mayor Pro Tara Booker advised the people
present that this portion of the public hearing was for the pur-
pose of considering the recommendation for approval by the
Planning & Zoning Commission to change the zoning on the north-
west corner 100' .X 210' of property owned by Tommy Elms, front-
ing Carroll School Road, south of Roanoke -Dove Road. Discussion
followed regarding dedication of right-of-way. Councilman Hearn
moved that the zoning on said land be changed from Ag District to
L District as requested without dedication of right-of-way;
seconded by Councilman Brown. Tha vote was as follows:
FOR: Councilmen Hearn, Brown and Knox
OPPOSED: Councilman Polson.
Motion carried.
Councilman Polson moved that the bills presented be paid; seconded

certain land described in Zoning

' At the regular meeting for public hearing of
the City Council of Southlake, Texas, held on December
2, 1969, the following motion was unanimously carried:
"ZA-69-23: Motion by Councilman Booker
that the recommendation for approval by the Planning
' & Zoning Commission of the request by D. G. Reames for
a change in zoning from "Ag" District to "H" District
on the northwest corner of FM 1709 and White Chapel Road,
being 500 feet by .500 feet of Tract 1C out of the L.
' G. Hall, Survey, ?abstract No. 686, be accepted; sec-
onded by Councilman Hearn. Motion carried unanimously."

on January 6, 1970, pertaining to chang-
ing zoning on certain land described by
metes and bounds in Ordinance No. 1 61 -9
owned by W. D. Farrar, Jr., and contain-
ing 69.14 acres of land. . . . . . . . .

At the regular meeting of the City Council of
Southlake, Texas, on January 6, 1970, the following motion
was unanimously carried:
' "The legal instrimients granting right-of-way
to the City and setting aside land for street purposes by
the owner, W. D. Farrar, Jr., as agreed to in Zoning
1 Application No. ZA-69-19, prepared by Mr. Farrar's attorney
and approved as to form by the City Attorney, were accepted
by the Council and approved on motion by Councilman Booker,
seconded by Councilman O'Brien and carried unanimously.
Said instruments were then duly executed;
1JUPERPON the condition to grant the requested
' zoning on said tract of land described in ZA-69-19 having
been fulfilled, the zoning was changed from "Ag" Agricul-
tural District to "H" Heavy Commercial District. Such
action by Council this date creates City Ordinance No.
161 -9."
