REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
AUGUST 4 , 1970
The City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, met in
regular session in the Council Chamber of City Hall on
Tuesday, August 4, 1970, with the following members pre-
sent:
Wade Booker, Mayor Pro Tem
Thurman Hearn, Councilman
Buddy Brown, Councilman
Ralph Polson, Councilman
Billy Joe Knox, Councilman (arrived late)
Absent: J. L. Clow, Mayor
Also present: William D. Campbell, City Attorney.
Mayor Pro Tem Booker called the meeting to order at 7:30 j
p.m. Rev. Gene Tyson of White's Chapel Methodist Church
gave the invocation.
The minutes were approved as read.
• Fire Department Report was given by Chief Bob Steele co
attached Councilman Brown moved that W. G. Cline be (copy
authorized to purchase the necessary fittings for the fire
truck being purchased from Richland Hills; seconded by
Councilman Knox. Motion carried unanimously. Discussion
followed regarding the City paying for the liability insur-
ance to be carried by the volunteer firemen assigned to
driving the "new" truck. Mayor Pro Tem Booker advised he
would look into the matter and report back on it.
Police Department Report was given by Sgt. Danny Cordes in
the absence of Chief Ince who is on vacation this week.
(Copy attached.) Discussion followed pertaining to motor-
cycles and also ambulance service.
Planning & Zoning Commission recommendations were
read to
the Council regarding ZA-70-1 and ZA-70-5. The date for
public hearings on these two applications was set for '
September 1, 1970, at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chamber.
Discussion followed regarding certificates of occupancy.
The City Secretary was instructed to check out some forms
used by other cities. ,
Councilman Brown moved that the bills presented be paid;
• seconded by Councilman Knox. Motion carried unanimously.

REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
August 18, 1970
The City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, met in regular
session in the Council Chamber of City Hall on Tuesday, August
18, 1970, with the following members present:
Wade Booker, Mayor Pro Tem
Thurman Hearn, Councilman
Buddy Brown, Councilman
Ralph Polson, Councilman
Billy Joe Knox, Councilman
Absent: J. L. Clow, Mayor
Also present: William D. Campbell, City Attorney '
Mayor Pro Tem Booker called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m.
Rev. Gene Tyson of -Uhite's Chapel Methodist Church gave the in-
vocation.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved as read.
• ORDINANCE NO. 161-20, amending the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance
o. 161, was read aloud by Mayor Pro Tem Booker to those present
at this public hearing wherein the fee for processing a zoning
request application is raised from $25.00 to $50.00, as was re-
commended by the Planning & Zoning Commission. Councilman Knox
moved that this ordinance be adopted; seconded by Councilman
Polson. Motion carried unanimously. (Copy attached and made a
part hereof.)
ORDINANCE NO. 161-21: Mayor Pro Tem Booker advised the people
present that this portion of the public hearing was for the pur-
pose of conhidering the recommendation for approval by the '
Planning & Zoning Commission to change the zoning on the north-
west corner 100' X 210' of property owned by Tommy Elms, front-
ing Carroll School Road, south of Roanoke-Dove Road. Discussion
followed regarding dedication of right-of-way. Councilman Hearn
moved that the zoning on said land be changed from Ag District to
L District as,, requested without dedication of right-of-way;
seconded by Councilman Brown. The vote was as follows:
FOR: Councilmen Hearn, Brown and Knox
OPPOSED: Councilman Polson.
Motion carried.
• Councilman Polson moved that the bills presented be paid; seconded ,

by Councilman Hearn. Motion carried unanimously.
Discussion followed between the Council and Citizen Mrs. Joe
Crass concerning fire protection.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
