Ir 104 REGULAR ]MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL JULY 21 , 1970 The City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, met in regular session in the Council Chamber of City Hall on ' Tuesday, July 21, 1970, with the following members present: J. L. Clow, Mayor Wade Booker, Mayor Pro Tem Thurman Hearn, Councilman Buddy Brown, Councilman Ralph Polson, Councilman Billy Joe Knox, Councilman Absent: William D. Campbell, City Attorney ' Mayor Clow called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. The invocation was given by Councilman Polson. The minutes were approved as read. • ORDINANCE NO. 161 -19 was explained to the Council and those present at this public hearing by Mayor Clow wherein the word "cemetery" is defined and the CY District (regulating cemeteries) was added to the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance No. 161. No comments were offered, whereupon Councilman ' Hearn made the motion to adopt Ordinance No. 161-19, amend- ing Ordinance No. 161; seconded by Councilman Booker. Motion carried unanimously. (Copy attached and made a part hereof.) ZA- 0- , a request for changeinV_zoning by Tommy Elms on the ' northwest corner.-of his tract of land, more fully described by metes and bounds in said application, from Ag District to L District, was set for public hearing August 18, 1970, at 7:30 P.M. at City Hall on motion by Councilman Booker, seconded by Councilman Knox, which carried unanimously. Discussion was had regarding the dedication of right of way along Carroll School Road. ZONING APPLICATION FEE was recommended to be raised from 2 to 0 by the Planning & Zoning Commission. Following a short discussion, Councilman Brown made the motion to raise the application fee to $50 thereby amending Section 10, Paragraph 2, of Ordinance No. 161; seconded by Council- man Knox. Motion carried unanimously. (Date for public hearing was set for August 18th..).`. 111 CITY MATTERS: Police Department employees salary increases were granted on motion by Councilman Polson, seconded by Councilman Brown, as follows: Sgt. Danny Cordes - $50 more per month OfficerDaymond Gaddy - $35 more per month Nancy Burch - $15 more per month Beverly Hamilton - $15 more per month ' Wanda Hicks - $25 more per month Patrolman Ken Kelly - $5 more per shift same being retroactive to July 1, 1970• Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Clow read the letter from John Quinn wherein pressing business requires his resignation from the Planning& Zoning Commission. Motion to accept John Quinn's resignation from the Planning & Zoning Commission was made by Councilman Hearn; seconded by Councilman Booker. Motion carried unan- imously. The City Secretary was directed to write a letter of thanks to Mr. Quinn on behalf of the Mayor and Council for his efforts. Tentative Tax Equalization Board members are Mssrs. L. A. Casey and Dick Drummond. Motion by Councilman Hearn to approve the bills presented for payment; seconded by Councilman Polson. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Clow instructed the City Secretary to place the semi-annual financial statement on the agenda forthb=next meeting, August 4th. ' Motion by Councilman Knox; seconded by Councilman Hearn, to hear from Citizen Jimmy Clifton. Motion carried un- animously. Mr. Clifton asked the City to allow him a permit for additional electrical service where his trailer ..park is. located. Discussion followed regarding px-epar zoning and non- conforming use of-land,.
