CITY COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor John Huffman, Mayor Pro Tern Chad Patton, and
Councilmember Kathy Talley.
CITY COUNCIL ABSENT: Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Randy Williamson and
Councilmembers Randy Robbins, Ronell Smith and Amy Torres-Lepp.
STAFF PRESENT: City Secretary Amy Shelley.
TIME:
1. CALL TO ORDER
Special meeting was called to order by Mayor Huffman at 5:30pm.
2. INVOCATION: CLAYTON REED
Mr. Clayton Reed provided the invocation. Mayor John Huffman led the pledges of
allegiance to the United States and Texas Flags.
3. RESOLUTION NO. 21-051, CANVASS THE RETURNS AND DECLARE THE
RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 2, 2021.
APPROVED
Mayor Huffman read the results of the November 2, 2021 Special Election results into the
record, declaring the following:
"THE ISSUANCE OF NOT TO EXCEED $50,000,000 OF CITY OF SOUTHLAKE,
TEXAS GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS FOR PARK (INCLUDING OPEN SPACE
AND PASSIVE PARKS) IMPROVEMENTS, AND THE IMPOSITION OF A TAX
SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL OF AND INTEREST ON THE BONDS"
FOR 4771 VOTES
AGAINST 35" VOTES
Motion was made to canvass and declare the results as read into the record.
