2. Consideration: Ordinance No. 480-QQQ, 1St Reading, Miscellaneous Amendments to the
Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance 480, as amended, relating to Accessory Structure
Standards in Residential Zoning Districts. (If approved on first reading, the public
hearing will be held October 2, 2007.)
3. Discussion: City logo development.
4. Adjournment.

MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Andy Wambsganss, Mayor Pro Tem Carolyn Morris,
Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Virginia M. Muzyka, and Councilmembers Laura K. Hill, Gregory
Jones, and Vernon Stansell.
CITY COUNCIL ABSENT: Councilmember John Terrell.
STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Shana Yelverton, Assistant City Manager Ben Thatcher,
Community Relations Officer Pilar Schank, Director of Economic Development Greg Last,
Economic Development Specialist Stefanie Wagoner, Director of Planning and Development
Services Ken Baker, Chief Planner Jayashree Narayana, and City Secretary Lori Payne.
Agenda Item No. 1. Mayor Wambsganss called the special meeting to order at 5:14 p.m.
Agenda Item No. 2. Consideration: Ordinance No. 480-QQQ, 1st Reading, Miscellaneous
amendments to the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance No. 480, as amended, relating to
accessory structure standards in residential zoning districts. Director Baker presented this item
and answered Council's questions. After Director Baker concluded his presentation, Council
discussed the item. Southlake residents Robert Gray and Tim Raley talked to Council about their
concerns. After discussion, Council decided to table this item to the October 2, 2007, City
Council meeting for consideration on first reading.
Mayor called for a short break at 6:08 p.m. and reconvened the meeting at 6:14 p.m.
Agenda Item No. 3. Discussion: City logo development. Director Last introduced the creative
team, Brad Bishop and Mike Thurman of Torch Creative, and turned the discussion over to them.
Mr. Bishop and Mr. Thurman presented logo concepts to City Council and discussed their initial
thoughts and suggestions on each concept. They presented various options of the mark and the
city name. Council discussed the four combinations of crests and font types.
After discussion, Council agreed to consider color schemes at a later date.
Director Last made closing comments regarding the logo discussion.
Mayor Wambsganss adjourned at 6:54 p.m.
