Members: W. Ralph Evans and Michael Richarme. STAFF PRESENT: Curtis E. Hawk, City Manager; Shana Yelverton, Assistant City Manager; Lou Ann Heath, Director of Finance; and, Sandra L. LeGrand, City Secretary. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Mayor Gary Fickes, who explained to the audience the purpose of this special meeting is to canvass the General and Special Elections held on May 4, 1996 and to call a runoff election. Agenda Item #2. Resolution No. 96 -23, Official Canvass Resolution No. 96 -23, canvassing the General and Special Elections held on May 4, 1996 declaring the results for Mayor, Councilmembers Places 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6. Mayor Fickes read the results of the canvass declaring the winners for each place as follows: W. Ralph Evans was declared elected as Councilmember Place 1 with a term to expire in May, 1999; Wayne Moffat was declared elected as Councilmember Place 2, with a term to expire in May 1997; Gary Fawks was declared elected as Councilmember Place 5, with a term to expire in May, 1998; and, Scott F. Martin was declared elected as Councilmember Place 6, with a term to expire in May, 1999. Motion was made to approve Resolution No. 96 -23 as presented. Motion: Muller Second: Evans Ayes: Muller, Evans, Wambsganss, Richarme, Fickes Nays: None Approved: 5 -0 vote Agenda item #3, Resolution No. 96 -24, Calling Runoff Election Resolution No. 96 -24, was approved, calling a Runoff Election for June 1, 1996 to be held at Johnson Elementary School, 1301 North Carroll Avenue, whereby the Office of Mayor and Councilmember Place 4 will be on the ballot.
