Background Information: The Southlake City Code and the Senior Advisory Commission Bylaws address the process for selection of the Vice -Chair and Secretary for the Senior Advisory Commission. Annually, following the City Council appointments of new Senior Advisory Commission members, the Board shall select a Vice -Chair and Secretary to serve for a one-year period until the next annual election. On October 1, 2024, the City Council appointed Patty Rogers (Alternate 1) and reappointed MaryLee Alford (Place 2), Julie Walter (Place 4), and Bernadette MacDermott (Place 7) to the Senior Advisory Commission. Additionally, the City Council reappointed MaryLee Alford as the Chair per Ordinance 1228B. Any sitting member of the Board may be considered for the officer positions. The current board members are: ■ William Meddings — Place 1 ■ MaryLee Alford — Place 2, Chair ■ Julie Walter — Place 4 ■ Brent Mcllvain — Place 5 ■ Greta Schumacher — Place 6, Vice Chair ■ Bernadette MacDermott — Place 7 A summary of each officer's duties is listed below for your consideration. CALL TO ORDER Chair MaryLee Alford called the meeting of the Senior Advisory Commission to order at 1:00 P.M. 2. PUBLIC FORUM Chair Alford opened Public Forum at 1:00 P.M. There being no one to address the Commission, Public Forum was closed at 1:00 P.M. 3. DISCUSSION: (No Vote on Discussion Items) A. Senior Center Marketing Plan Presentation — Vicky Schiber, Community Relations Manager Schiber presented the Marketing Plan and was available to answer questions. SAC members provided feedback. B. Champions Club Update -- Amy Bennett, Champions Club Operations Manager Bennett presented the Champions Club Update and was available for questions. 4. CONSENT Consent Agenda items are considered routine by the Commission and are enacted with one motion. A. Approve the minutes from the August 13, 2024, Senior Advisory Commission Meeting Senior Advisory Commission Meeting Minutes for September 10, 2024 Chair Alford presented the Consent Agenda, including approval of the minutes of the August 13, 2024, meeting. Chair Alford asked if there were any revisions to the minutes. Revisions were discussed. APPROVED A motion was made to accept the minutes of August 13, 2024, meeting as revised. Motion: MacDermott Second: Schumacher Ayes: Alford, Schumacher, MacDermott, Mcllvain, Meddings, Walter Nays: None Abstention: None Vote: 6-0 Motion passed. 5. ADJOURNMENT Chair Alford adjourned the meeting at 2:15 P.M.
