CALL TO ORDER Chair MaryLee Alford called the meeting of the Senior Advisory Commission to order at 1:00 P.M. 2. PUBLIC FORUM Chair Alford opened Public Forum at 1:00 P.M. There being no one to address the Commission, Public Forum was closed at 1:00 P.M. 3. DISCUSSION: Guest Speakers A. Mary King — Director of Metroport Meals on Wheels presented the biannual report and was available for questions. B. Major Youngblood — Corporate Business Manager presented the Citizen Survey Results and was available for questions. 4. CONSENT Consent Agenda items are considered routine by the Commission and are enacted with one motion. A. Approve the minutes from the February 13, 2024, S e n i o r Ad v i so ry Commission Meeting Chair Alford presented the Consent Agenda, including approval of the minutes of the February 13, 2024, meeting. Chair Alford asked if there were any revisions to the minutes. No revisions were discussed. APPROVED Senior Advisory Commission Meeting Minutes for Match 12, 2024 5. A motion was made to accept the minutes of February 13, 2024, meeting as read. SAC Meeting April 9, 2024 - Call A Ride of Southlake Briefing Page 1 CARS NEWS: 1. On Feb 6, 2024 CARS was notified by the Southlake Women's Club that we have been selected as a beneficiary of Art in the Square 2024. 2. The Kendra Scott fundraiser in December 2023 netted us $259.00 which was received in February 2024. 3. Our Director and Marketing Executive, Lisa Adam, represented CARS at the NE Tarrant Transportation Summit on February 9, 2024. 4. We had representatives at the Strokes of Art event on Sunday February 18, 2024. 5. In December 2023 we awarded each driver a $75.00 gift certificate as well as a certificate for a deluxe car wash as a thank you for their service to Southlake Seniors and Handicapped. 6. Our numbers in 2024 are up to pre Covid levels and we are looking forward to a successful 2024. 7. CARS has been accepted for a NE Tarrant County Transportation Grant of $6,000 which will be awarded sometime later this year. 8. CARS is currently in the process of evaluating changes to our website.
