CARS NEWS:
1. At the July Stars and Stripes City Event July 3, 2022, and again at October Fest for two days, our
Executive Director did a walk -around with a sandwich board advertising Call A Ride Services.
2. In August CARS filed an application with Tarrant County for a 2022 Transportation Grant. It was
approved at the end of September, and we received a check for $6,000.00 on October 7, 2022.
This was used to reduce the impact on the prior two years budgets.
3. In September, the Southlake City Council approved anew three-year agreement with Cali A Ride
of Southlake. This agreement awards CARS an increase of $5,000 annually and additional
marketing enhancements as well as other amenities. Most of the increase will be used to
support the Operation of CARS. We are grateful to everyone who helped with this process.
4. CARS had a table at a Cars and Coffee event conducted at the Texas Gun Experience October 15,
2022, and another after that in Southlake. This served to increase our exposure in the driver
community.
5. October was Volunteer Month and CARS gave our drivers a Car Wash gift certificate to honor
them for their service to our Southlake Senior community.
6. We Lost CARS Director, Veronica Cobb. Relocated out of State.
