The Commissions' options during this topic are 1) to listen, 2) ask questions and respond to the presenter only, 3) request staff to look into the issue and report back to the Commission and/or 4) request that the Chair put the item on a future agenda for the Commission to discuss or consider. On Tuesday April 5, 2022, we conducted our first successful fundraiser for 2022 at Fish City Grill in Southlake. 2. We have petitioned the City of Southlake for additional funding in 2023. In 2022 we have had a budget shortfall because of reduced or no funding from other traditional sources. We have eliminated the "nice to do" things for volunteers and have dramatically reduced compensation for our Executive Director which has held flat for 6 years. 3. Statistics have still not returned to pre -pandemic numbers, but we are starting to see a significant increase in numbers. The Board of Directors of Call A Ride is working to address driver recruitment. 4. New handicapped riders are requesting daily rides, but we are unable to meet 100% of the requests. MONTHS BEING BRIEFED: JANUARY 2022: 1. Drivers decreased by 4. (from 25 to 21). 2. Driver Personal Vehicle Miles have increased: (from 321 to 506: +185). 3. Driver Hours have increased: (From 11.5 to 17.8: +6.3). 4. Trip requests not filled have increased to 16. No volunteer drivers available. 5. Medical/Dental One -Way trips increased: From 8 to 17 (+9). 6. Southlake Senior Center increased to 41 (+18). Other Centers decreased by 16. 7. Total One -Way trips increased by 18 to 69. FEBRUARY 2022: 1. Drivers steady at 21. 2. Driver Personal Vehicle Miles have increased: (from 506 to 548 +42). 3. Driver Hours have increased: (From 17.8 to 19.8: +2). 4. Trip requests not filled have increased to 25. No volunteer drivers available. 5. Medical/Dental One -Way trips decreased: (From 17 to 11: -6). 6. Southlake Senior Center increased to 46 (+5). CALL TO ORDER Vice Chair Greta Schumacher called the meeting of the Senior Advisory Commission to order at 1:02 p.m. 2. PUBLIC FORUM Vice Chair Schumacher opened Public Forum. There being no one to address the Commission, Public Forum was closed. 3. DISCUSSION 3A. METROPORT MEALS ON WHEELS UPDATE MMOW Executive Director Mary King presented a quarterly report to the Commission and informed the Commission of the Metroport Meals on Wheels fundraiser scheduled March 26t" at the Bradley's Estate. 3B. COMMUNITY SERVICES UPDATE Deputy Director David Miller and Hospitality & Sales Manager Crystal Maddalena presented a Community Services update to include the winter weather response, successful sales of the Sweetheart Dance sessions, the TRAPS annual Awards to include: The Marq Southlake won the 2022 TRAPS Recreation Facility Design Award and was available to answer questions. 3C. SENIOR SERVICES UPDATE Senior Services Coordinator Soheila Mashat-Phelps presented an update to the Item 4A-1 Senior Advisory Commission Meeting Minutes of the February 8, 2022 Commission on current and future senior programming and events to include the senior trips, the SWC Annual Valentine's Day lunch, and new senior program(s). Coordinator Mashat-Phelps informed the Commission that the Southlake Senior Activity Center won the 2022 TRAPS State Lone Star Recreation Programming, Class IV Award and was available to respond to questions. 4 4A. 61 CONSENT CONSENT AGENDA Consent Agenda items are considered routine by the Commission and are enacted with one motion. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE JANUARY 11, 2022, REGULAR SENIOR ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING. Vice Chair Schumacher presented the Consent Agenda, including approval of the minutes of the January 11, 2022, meeting. V i c e Chair Schumacher asked if there were any revisions to the minutes. No revisions were discussed. APPROVED A motion was made to accept the minutes of January 11, 2022, meeting as read.
