Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
The regular Senior Advisory Commission meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m. in The
Marq Legends Hall Executive Boardroom. A light lunch will be served at 12:30
p.m. Please advise staff if you are not able to attend this meeting

1. Agenda Item No. 1. Call to Order
2. Agenda Item No. 2. Public Forum: — This is the public's opportunity to address
the Commission about non -agenda items. During Public Forum, the Commission
will not discuss, consider, or take action on any item presented. The
Commissions' options during this topic are 1) to listen, 2) ask questions and
respond to the presenter only, 3) request staff to look into the issue and report
back to the Commission and/or 4) request that the Chair put the item on a future
agenda for the Commission to discuss or consider.

A. Economic Development Report — Deputy Director of Economic
Development & Tourism, Daniel Cortez will present an update to the
Commission on development projects within the City. No packet

report and the Cumulative report are included in the packet.
C. Call A Ride Southlake Report — A copy of the CARS August 2019 and
Cumulative report are included in the packet.

1. CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chair MaryLee Alford called the meeting of the Senior Advisory Commission to
order at 1:01 p.m.
2. PUBLIC FORUM- Vice Chair MaryLee Alford opened the Public Forum.
Mr. Lou Braun, current member of the Senior Activity Center, addressed The
Senior Advisory Commission regarding a concern not included on the Agenda.
Lou Braun brought forth a complaint about the stairwell entrance leading to
Legends Hall being closed. He also addresses his concern on how staff
responded to the inconvenience.
Vice Chair MaryLee Alford acknowledged the Public Forum Comments and
directed staff staff to look into the issue. There being no one else to address the
Commission, Public Forum was closed.
3. DISCUSSION
3A. COMMUNITY SERVICES REPORT
Hospitality & Sales Manager, Ashley Newhart, recognized Beverly Blake with a brief
presentation and words from a news article published the week prior. A copy of the July
dashboard report was included in the packet.
