The complaints were about the size of the exercise classrooms, the disappearance of the senior aquatics program at CISD Aquatics Center, and the priority of senior issues and needs at the new facility. Deputy Director Candice Edmondson responded to the complaints and provided information regarding each of the issues. The exercise class size situation will be resolved once Phase 2 of the facility is completed. The senior aquatics class was a CISD offering that was discontinued by CISD, however senior aquatic classes will be offered at Champions Club. The needs and issues of the Southlake senior population are very important to City Council and City staff and management continues to work to balance priorities of the dual uses at The Marq. Commission members were encouraged to communicate directly with City Council members if desired. A request was made to staff to have noted in the minutes the City anticipates the Champions Club will have dedicated times for senior -only activities.
