A. City Manager’s Office & Community Services – This is a standing item on the
agenda to allow for an update from the City’s Communica tions and Website
Manager Pilar Schank and Community Services Department staff regarding
current developments. This item has no packet document.
B. Metroport Meals on Wheels – This item is a standing item on the agenda to
allow for a report on the MMOW program. This item has no packet document.
C. Call A Ride Southlake– This item is a standing item on the agenda to allow for
a report on the CARS program. This item has no packet document.
D. Senior Services Coordinator – This is an opportunity for the Senior Services
Coordinator to present information about existing and future programs and

to allow for a report on Southlake Senior Funding, Inc., (SSFI). This item has

5. Agenda Item No. 5. Public Forum: – This is the public's opportunity to address the
Commission about non-agenda items. During Public Forum, the Commission will not
discuss or take action on any item presented. The Commissions' options during this
topic are 1) to listen, 2) ask questions and respond to the presenter only, 3) request
staff to look into the issue and report back to the Commission and/or 4) request that
the Chair put the item on a future agenda f or the Commission to discuss or consider.

Prior to the meeting, Senior Advisory Commission members toured the new DPS North

1. CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chairman Sporn called the meeting of the Senior Advisory Commission to
order at 2:05 p.m.
Agenda Item 4A was moved up on the agenda and considered next.
4. REPORTS
4A. COMMUNITY RECREATION CENTER UPDATE
Director of Community Services Department Tribble presented the updated
schematic design for Phase I and Phase 2 of the Community Recreation Center
(CRC) project and provided details about the design and updated floor plan as he

responded to questions. A webpage on the City’s website
(www.cityofsouthlake.com) has been created to provide citizens the latest
information about the CRC project.
2. CONSENT AGENDA Consent Agenda items are considered to be routine by the
Commission and are enacted with one motion. Chair McCauley read the consent
agenda items into the record.
2A. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE JANUARY 14, 2014 REGULAR SENIOR
ADVISORY COMMISSION.
There were no corrections made to the minutes.

A motion was made to accept the minutes of the January 14, 2014 meeting as
presented.

Communications & Website Manager Pilar Schank reported on City activities and
responded to questions from the Commission.
4C. METROPORT MEALS ON WHEELS
MMOW representative Mary King was not present to provide a report.
4D. CALL A RIDE SOUTHLAKE
CARS Chair Brighton Greene summarized the CARS monthly participation
reports for January and February.

4E. SENIOR SERVICES COORDINATOR
Senior Services Coordinator Soheila Phelps reported about existing and future
projects and activities at the Center.
4F. SOUTHLAKE SENIOR FUNDING, INC.
Southlake Senior Funding, Inc., Board Director McCauley reported on SSFI
developments and fundraising efforts.
5. PUBLIC FORUM
Vice Chair Sporn opened the public forum. There being no one to speak during
public forum, Vice Chair Sporn closed the public forum.
Tom Dowyer, representative from Silverstone Development, attended the
meeting to address the Commission about his project during Public Forum;
however, left prior to public forum for another appointment.
6. CONSIDER
6A. SENIOR ADVISORY COMMISSION 1ST QUARTER WRITTEN REPORT TO
CITY COUNCIL
The Commission reviewed the report to be included in the March 18, 2014 City
Council meeting packet and made spelling and typographical corrections to the
draft.
A motion was made and unanimously approved to accept the SAC written report
with the corrections as presented.
7. ADJOURNMENT

p.m.
