Adoption of the 2021 International Building Codes & Local/Regional Amendments — Provide
regulation of the safeguard to public health and safety for community related construction. Align
with Southlake PDS strategy and city corporate objectives to achieve the highest standards of
safety and security. International Codes (I -Codes) are the most trusted source of model
codes/standards. Updated/published every 3 years. Reviewed by the Regional Codes
Coordinating Committee. Encouraged for adoption by RCC to reduce variation of local
construction codes from city to city.
