22 Agenda Item No. 1, Call to Order. - Vice Chair Peggy Firestone called the meeting to
23 order at 6:15 p.m.

31 Agenda Item No 3A - Approval of the minutes from the January 22, 2008 Southlake
32 Arts Council Meeting.

34 A motion to approve the minutes was made and seconded. The minutes were approved
35 unanimously.

41 Vice Chair Firestone opened and closed the public forum as there was no one to speak.

1 Agenda Item No. 5A, Consider - Appointment of Arts Council Members to participate in
2 the Artist selection work Group.

4 Mr. Tribble noted that up to three members need to be appointed to work with Mr.
5 Tribble and Mr. McGeath to develop a standard format for the call to artists for future
6 public art projects. If there are numerous applications, the work group may also need to
7 weed through the applications to present a smaller choice to the Council.

9 The motion was made by Mr. Walter and seconded by Ms. Messing to appoint Ms.
10 Firestone, Ms. Tilbury and Ms. Wiersum to this work group. It was unanimously
11 approved.

13 The DPS work group for the new DPS building has already started on an application.
14 The two work groups will need to meet to create a final version. The DPS work group
15 is anxious to get started making decisions about the art and its placement. This
16 Council's proposal to put $50,000 of public art in the Square will go to the City Council
17 on March 4th. The DPS art will be reviewed by this Council before a recommendation is
18 made to the City Council.

20 Agenda Item No. 5B Consider - Appointment of Arts Council Members to participate in
21 the Public Arts Master Plan Development Work Group.

23 Mr. Tribble would like the Master Plan to be presented along with next year's budget to
24 City Council. The motion was made by Ms. Messing and seconded by Ms. Tilbury to
25 appoint Ms. Messing, Ms. Alexander and Mr. Walter to the work group. It was
26 unanimously approved. In addition, Ms. Newell will work with the group as an ex-officio
27 member.

30 The Council discussed art for the roundabouts. Ms. Tilbury found information from
31 Bend, Oregon and Mr. Tribble has been in contact with the person in charge of the
32 public art for the City of Frisco.

34 Mr. Tribble will set up a meeting with the Artist selection work group and the DPS work
35 group. He will set up a meeting for the Master Plan work group for next week.

37 The Greater Southlake Women's Club auctioned a steer for $2600.00 last Saturday.
38 The calves will be auctioned by PTOs since 50% of the funds go to the organization.

40 The April meeting will be held at the new Bob Jones Nature Center.
