APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE APRIL 25, 2023, SOUTHLAKE ARTS COUNCIL MEETING Chair McMillan presented item 3A, approval of the minutes from the April 25, 2023, Southlake Arts Council meeting. Chair McMillan asked if there were any revisions to the minutes. No revisions were discussed. APPROVED A motion was made to approve the Public Art Display permit for the Southlake Sister Cities Youth Art as presented. Direction to Staff: Review schedule for tournaments at North Park for Sunday, October 29, 2023 5C. ART FOR DPS WEST Assistant to the Director Milenka Lopez and Community Relations Manager Vicky Schiber presented item 5C to the Arts Council for discussion and was available to answer questions. Direction to staff: Discuss artist selection with Chief Star 5D. Due to not having a quorum to vote, the minutes were tabled to the next meeting. 4. CONSIDER 4A. APPROVE THE PUBLIC ART DISPLAY PERMIT FOR THE FY 24 YEAR Assistant to the Director Milenka Lopez presented item 4A, approval of the Public Art Display permits for the FY 24 year, including the Fall Exhibit, Stokes of Art in the Square, and Southlake Presents, and was available to answer questions. APPROVED A motion was made to approve the Public Art Display permits for the FY 24 year as presented. Direction to staff: Staff to look at different material and mount options for Arts Council consideration next meeting. 5B. FALL EXHIBIT Assistant to the Director Milenka Lopez updated the Arts Council that artist Jeremy Serna had agreed to do the Fall Exhibit and signed the contract. DOWDLE STUDIOS OPPORTUNITY Chair McMillan stated that she and Councilmember Kathy Talley would reach out to the organization to learn more about it and report back to the Arts Council. Direction to Staff: Keep on the agenda for next month. 5F. GREENVILLE ART DISCUSSION Arts Council member Susan Steinbrecher presented examples of public art she documented on a trip to Greenville. Chair McMillan stated that there are exciting programs for the community coming in the fall. Direction to Staff: None. 6.
