DISCUSSION 4A. REVIEW LOCATIONS FOR LYMAN WHITAKER SCULPTURE Community Relations Manager Jenni Lanier facilitated the discussion and answered questions. The Arts Council revisited concepts of the proposed Whitaker sculpture at Frank Edgar Cornish, IV Park and Rustin Park pavilion. Other sites were Central Park, Summit Park, Bicentennial Park (east side near log cabin), Bob Jones Park, Noble Oaks Park, future roundabout at Highland and White Chapel, and the Southlake Sports Complex. The Arts Council agreed all of the proposed sites are great locations for future art pieces and they support expansion of the Public Sculpture Program to include those sites, but for the Whitaker sculpture at this time, they unanimously agreed that the sculpture should be placed at the original location in Frank Edgar Cornish, IV Park because their opinion is the Whitaker sculpture design and visual appeal is well -suited for that location. To expedite the process to obtain the City of Southlake Values. - Integrity ♦ Innovation ♦ Accountability ♦ Commitment to Excellence ♦ Teamwork Minutes of the April 25, 2017 Southlake Arts Council Meeting Page 3 of 5 sculpture, the Arts Council reached a consensus the location at Rustin Park pavilion is their 2nd choice location.
