The purpose of the meeting is to consider the annexation request of Hillside Estates Addition, into the City of Southlake. The 17.987 acre tract of land is out of the John J. Freshour Survey, Abstract 521. This is the first public hearing for this request. Others present for the hearing were Ted Kasper and Ed Norman. McCombs x x Eubanks x Bone x x j MAYORS REPORT The street and road improvements program was discussed. Mayor Latta informed the council on the progress being made by the county on Southlake priority list for road repair. He indicated that in addition to the $40,000. authorized previously, $13,000 to $15,000. more will be needed to complete East Dove Road and Summerplace Lane. When council was polled, all councilpersons were in favor of the expenditure. Upon completion, Brumlow will be the only road on the list not completed. He also read a Resolution passed by the comm- issioners court addressing FM1709 from Keller to Grapevine. The Resolution was directed to the State Highway Department. Proclamation passed by Mayor Latta proclaiming August as Child Support Month, was read to the audience. Latta indicated that a back-up system for city hall phones will cost $2,084. for one hour back-up. When informed of this, council agreed that we should proceed with this action. Westerholm x x Resolution 84-22 appointing Ralph RESOLUTION Bradley x Evans as a member of the Board of 84-22 McCombs x Adjustments, to fill the unexpired Eubanks x x term of Fred Merrill, was passed. Bone x A public hearing was held on the FY85 proposed FY85 Budget. Mayor announce BUDGET that with a base of $389,188. the tax PUBLIC rate will be 18.1% or a 37.85% increa e.HEARING j The entire budget was reviewed for th audience.
